I spoke twice by phone with Kevin of SIA Electronics. Both times he assured me he could rebuild a brake module for my vehicle for $50 + shipping with 2 day turnaround. So I had my auto repair service remove the module and send it to SIA. Since my car couldn't be driven without it, I got a rental car. After 5 days and no news, I called SIA. The receptionist said they couldn't repair it and were shipping it back. They hadn't bothered to call me, of course.
I have incurred over $200 in rental fees plus the cost of taking the old module out and putting it back in so my car will run. (I now still have brakes, but no ABS and the brake light and ABS light are on so it won't pass emissions testing because of the brake lights being on). So I still have a brake module problem, and didn't even get an apology for being misled. When I talked to Kevin, he said some modules have parts available for rebuild and some don't. SO WHY DIDN'T HE CHECK BEFORE HE PROMISED ME SOMETHING HE COULDN'T DELIVER??? His attitude was clearly that it was my problem, why was I bothering him?
I registered a complaint with the St. Louis Better Business Bureau. SIA Electronics didn't respond to their inquiry, so one of the BBB mediators attempted to call to get a resolution. She tried several times from 3/8/15 to 3/31/15. SIA wouldn't take or return her call. Finally on 3/31/15 she reached someone (Kevin?). Afterward, she called me to report on results. She said he had told her "The company is not concerned with that woman's money. You're only the BBB. Nobody cares."
Bottom line: Don't believe anything SIA Electronics tells you. If you spend money sending parts out to them for rebuild, you may or may not get something for your efforts.

My experience is what it is. SIA Electronics has 5 complaints with the local BBB. 4 are closed "failed to respond" and one is closed "failure to resolve complaint". You have an F rating.

First off I am Kevin and I have never been contacted by the BBB at all I have been with the company 22 years and been doing ABS for 19 years As far as the complaint I take all customer concerns and issues very serious and try to resolve as quick as possible and I am like my customers reliant on our vehicles and the longer they are down the longer the hardship and when I give my word of a 1-2 day turn around I mean it and take it personal if it does not happen and I go above and beyond to be helpful even if we can not fix it I will do my best and even look the part up for them and tell them where they can get I was not raised to take advantage of anyone and I will not As far as not being able to repair if I do not know for certain what the customer is sending in I will use alldata to look it up and see what they have I would never purposely waste a customers time or money and cause a hardship for them Some vehicles have different modules and crossover years and on a rare occasion on the crossover year what I look up is not what is on the vehicle and if what I look up shows a few choices I will let the customer know which ones I can and can not repair
There are times modules are damaged beyond repair or the part that went bad is not the common problem and the replacement parts are not yet available and there are times when although a new part it will fail or the unit had issues and repaired but the vehicle has a bad speed sensor or abs pump motor and I understand that most people put the repaired item back on and lights come back on and they are upset but we discuss the problem to determine what could be causing the issue I advise having vehicle taken to auto zone or auto parts store to get codes read for free before spending money at dealership or spending money to ship back in if there is another problem on vehicle and ask them to call back to go over the code or codes present and what they should do In closing I do care about my customers and work hard to provide them with a good quality repair at a reasonable price I have talked to many amazing people over the years and have my favorites that just make your day Thank you I wanted to give my side and insight
