apt very dirty, surprised to find out from incompetent maintenance lad(he had very pretty& clean work boots) that there were cleaning ladies living on premises. Spent 4 hours sanitizing kitchen cabinets inside/out from 40 yrs of grease, paint overspray, cockroach detritus, carbon cemented on oven innards. Kitchen hot water valve corroded, only allowing a mouse piss worth of hot water, bathroom sink leaks, brushed teeth over tub, until tenant fixed vanity drain, rusted out. Sewer smell emanating from open tub, vanity sink drain . Valves on tub wrong, won't open, shower,diverter valve non working,. Large gaps between valve stems and shower wall, allowing HUGE palmetto bugs to commute from inside wall . Roaches running amok on ceiling, walls, in carpet, couldn't put food or dishes& pots away for 6 months. Dangerous chemicals and resins being sprayed in upstairs remodel, all being commuted thru our air cond register, no ductwork, just bare wood crawl space between floors, next, 30 year old carpet & pad removed upstairs, causing fine dust to choke is downstairs, via air register. No sympathy from manager, disrespectful, ultimately retaliatory, slapping us with repair costs, and threatening our good tenant pay history because we had the audacity to beg for pest control, black mold removal, didn't happen, busted window, no frame felt, burnt & melted stove hood fan, sprayed shut closet doors, ceiling fan installed by Ernesto the enempt, they treated us like a joke.

After Siegal purchased this apartment building from a private landlord the apartment complex has gone completely downhill. Aside from the negligent attitude toward maintenance, there is no longer any screening of potential tenants. Anyone with a deposit and a pulse can move on in. This includes sex predators and drug dealers. Siegal does not care one bit about the families that rent here or their impact on the community around them. If you rent here get all correspondence in writing and get receipts each time you pay rent. Verbal agreements and promises mean nothing and they make it very difficult to get anything in writing since they know it can be used against them. Terrible company.

Everyone on earth has the opportunity to do a walkthrough of an apartment before moving in/signing paperwork. 95% of this complaint was preexisting prior to you signing up. If you had issues, you should have asked for them to be corrected prior to your occupancy, or making even more sense, refused to move in at all. This is a baseless complaint.
