I purchased four pairs of stud earrings for my daughter for Christmas, they were sterling silver and they looked really nice.

When I purchased them, I asked specifically if I could return them if she didn't like them. I wasn't sure if the earrings were the right size, with several piercings now in her ears, they would have to fit together.

The sales girl said I could exchange them but not get my money back, I was ok with that because they had some decent bracelets.

When my daughter put them in her ears, Christmas Day, both stones fell out on one pair, the back broke on the other pair. THE FIRST DAY, can you imagine? I felt like an idiot even though I spent good money.

At that point, there were two damaged pairs and two pairs never used. I reviewed the never used ones and they looked cheap like the backs were just holding on by a thread.

I returned to the cart and the salesgirl said It wasn't me who sold you these, like that matters? She asked me if I would take an even exchange and I said no because the quality was unsatisfactory, the bracelets were sold out.

She would have to call her boss, I stood there while she waited on a few people who were buying, very pleasant she was, even though I was there first.

She called her boss, the boss said no, and the salesgirl relayed the message and pointed to the sign, no exchanges or refunds, I didn't see that sign before, I then asked about an exchange, she pointed to the sign again. NO. not even an exchange now. I guess she will keep her job.

I went to the manager of the mini mall and let him know, it was duly noted, however, he would not interfere. After all they pay rent, who am I.

I was really bummed out; I don't have money like that to throw away.

My regrets:

1) I had my doubts when making my purchase and I was going to get one pair to make sure they would be good but because it was Christmas I wanted to give her more.

2) I associated it with a hospital gift shop where you can find the best jewelry, cute with great quality.

3) I should have read the sign.

Oh well, at least I got to air my feelings and maybe others will learn from this and that is the most I can ask for.

Thank you,

Kathy
