Simm Associates/ Wolpoff And Abramson/ Sherman Acquisitions, Annoying deceptive collection tendencies Newark Delaware

I was first contacted by Wolpoff and Abramson who claim that they had bought the debt from Sherman Acquisitions, LLC. I went online and made payments for about 3 months after which I got a letter from MRS Associates who had bought the debty from Sherman Acquisitions. The amount that they said I owed was still the same as what Wolpoff had initially said a I owed, plus the rude person on the other end emphasised that I should have made more than one payment. I told her that I had payed at least 3 or four times before it came to her.

Called Wolpoff and Abramson and they said they could not send me a synopsis of what I owed as they did not have any records of mine. I asked what they did with them and they said that once the debt is shifted, they do not have the information anymore. So I have no proof that I paid other than bank statements. Called MRS back and asked them to send me a copy of what I owed and how much and how they determined it. They refused. I said I would not pay another cent until they could tell me how they arrived at the sum they were asking me for. Got a call a few months later from Simm Associates. They had just bought the debt from Sherman Acquisitions, LLC. I was now upset and asked for an address where I could request that they send me the information in writing. The collector says that they don't have an address. I asked how they handle payments without an address and he said that they handle it with checks by phone. I don't do things that way and insisted that I will not be sending money for a debt we can't even prove I owe.

I go on vacation and Simm Associates call my neighbor and tell him that they don't think I have a phone, but can I please call them and leave a number and reference number. I am now really upset, especially since the only way they could have gotten the neighbor's number is by checking in the phone book. So am not talking to Simm Associates (who have miraculously found my number again and are calling regularly). In the meantime I am now getting calls from Wolpoff and Abramson (no letter yet) to discuss my debt. Aren't these the people who don't keep records??? Why on earth would I be motivated to pay them again?? Not happy with any of these folks. The saga continues.
