This should stand as a warning to anyone interested in buying a vehicle from Simmons Rockwell, especially a truck with a bedliner.

In late January 07, I purchased a 2006 Dodge Dakota truck from Simmons Rockwell in Hornell. The truck "appeared" to be in excellent condition. Nearly new in fact. It had slightly over 9000 miles. I bought the truck and was quite satisfied with the experience. The only thing I was disturbed by is that the salesman seemed to not know trucks well, as I mentioned putting a tonneu cover on it, and he said it would hurt gas milage and I would have to remove the bedliner.

No big deal, just a salesman that is under educated.... right? Wrong!!

Less than a month later, I ended up going in to have the cover put on, and low and behold, we remove the bedliner. Underneath, carnage. The bed was scratched horribly. There are at least 8 spots that are beginning to rust. Both wheel wells are dented quite badly. The passenger wheel well is dented so bad in one spot, that a hole was punctured through the well, and is rusting.

Had I waited longer, I could have potentiall lost the bed altogether. But, I figure since I just bought it, they will stand by their product.

Wrong once again. Even though I paid $1000 for an electronic rust inhibitor, they will not cover this as it was "pre-existing". Therefore, they knew the damage was there, and did not disclose it at the time of purchase.

So now I have a $1000 rust inhibitor that is considered a fraud anyway, and a bed of my truck that I have to pay for the fixing. I have spoken with 4 people at Simmons Rockwell, and even had my mechanic talk to them to try and rectify this issue. They will not work with me as I bought the truck USED and as is.

I would urge anyone contemplating to do business with Simmons Rockwell Ford Mercury to re-think your decision. If you decide to go with them due to their prices, and you are looking at a truck with a bedliner, please ask them to remove the bedliner temporarily to inspect the bed of the vehicle, as since they have done this to me, they will likely continue doing it again.
