Simon Gift Cards ,Visa Administrative Fees Florida Internet

I am writing you concerning my so called Simon "GIFT" card. Dec of 2006 I received a Simon Visa gift card for $50 from my co-workers. This card has an expiration dated of 12/08. I was aware of this and planned on using my GIFT card this fall. On Sept 27th- MY BIRTHDAY- I went to use the card for $31 and it was denied. How embarassing it was for me.

In checking my balance I discovered a charge of $2.50 starting in January and continuing through Sept. I was absolutely floored to find out that I was being penalized for not using it sooner. Again, this card does not expire until 12/08. Then, I went to use it at my beauty salon on Tuesday, Sept 30th for the balance of the card $27.50 and it was denied again. We got it to accept $20.00.

In speaking with a support person they told me that there is a $4.00 chrg because I went to a beauty salon and to top it off $2.50 is kept to chrg me again the next day (Oct 1st) your rip off fee. Since when did I sign any type of contract allowing you to do what you are doing. I have spoken to numerous people about this card and the majority of them have also been riped off by these cards and guarantee will never purchase one again.

I am very upset and I plan on contacting WI Consumer Protection Agency, the Atty Generals's Office and my Senator. This card was my money to use until it expired the end of December. I have never ever heard of such a thing. Oh, I did see the fine print on the back of the card telling of the $2.50 chrg after the fact. Why would I worry about a chrg on a gift card. I hope the Government steps in soon to stop your money hunger practice. I hope they enjoyed my money. I work hard for my wages, health insurance, etc and this was quite upsetting when I had so looked forward to a certain purchase only to find out my card is worth hald of what it should be.

By the way my beauty salon accepts Visa and I understand this card can be used anywhere where Visa is accepted. This rip off has to stop and I am going to make sure I write everyone I can. I will await your response concerning this issue.
