Mysterious $84.00 charge suddenly appeared on debit card account. I never spoke with anyone at this company, never gave them any of my information, certainly never authorized this charge.
After reading other complaints on this website, am inclined to believe they obtained my card number from The Company Store. I placed an order over the phone with The Company Store about a month ago. The amount "Simple Escapes" has charge is EXACTLY the same amount as other people who've reported having this problem after ordering from The Company Store were charged ($84).
My bank/card company is fighting this for me. In meantime, must get all new cards, etc.
This is credit card fraud, pure and simple. Same as if someone found my card lying in the street and decided to use it. In this case, it's a company, not an individual, using a card number they somehow "found." Either way, it's theft.
