November 4th 2005 my husband purchased me a simplefreedom Kyocera phone. The main purpose of this phone was to stay in contact with each other and the kids in case of emergencies, etc. We purchased the kids phones also. Well friday Nov. 4 2006 our oldest son text messaged me while I was away from home. I attempted to answer the text but recieved ATTENTION: Updating messages. Try again later. on the screen. I immediately went home worried that I was missing a very important message. All was well at home. I started trying to contact simplefreedom through their 800# on the web site. After the usual number pushing to get through to CS I was informed via a recorded message that they were UNABLE to respond to my call due to the volume of calls they were reciving. So I used their email support and reported the problem.
The next day I still had no responce so I attempted to call again. I called 3 times on Nov. 5 2006 and each time after being put on hold for over 30 mins each time I was disconnected. I emailed again.

Today, Nov 6, 2006 I finally got through on the 800 number after the second try. The operator put me on hold many times while contacting their "tech" department. Her first answer to my problem was to turn the phone off then back on, which I had already attempted. When that didnt work I was put on hold again several times. She eventually came back to tell me that the problem was with the phone itself and that since my one year warranty expired on the 4th of November, THE DAY THE PROBLEM STARTED, my only recourse was to purchase a new phone. I explained that I was thrilled because I had recently put new minutes on this one and of course she told me that I could transfer my number and my minutes to the new phone. Had my call been answered the day the phone malfunctioned would I have recieved satisfaction? I don't know. I do know that I will no longer refer friends and family to simple freedom and I will replace the kids phones.
