I brought a stereo receiver in for repair at Sipple electronics on 9/29/04. After a month of constantly calling them to check on it,(since no one contacted me) they finally said it was done. I went to pick it up on 10/27/04 and paid for it by charge, a total of $74.08.

I put it in my car in their parking lot and it still didnt work.I took it back inside and they said they needed more time to look at it.

2 weeks went by and no one contacted me. I called Sipples and talked to Randy who said the part he installed was bad and he needed to order a new one and it should be there that Wednesday and it will be ready by Friday.

I waited and again no one called me. The following Tuesday (11/16/04) I stopped by and it still was not finished.

The guy at the desk told me they needed to order the part that was bad, and I explained that Randy told me it was supposed to be ready last Friday. He told me to come back when Randy came in around 11 o'clock.

I went back and they still had not ordered the part so at this time I requested my money back. I was told that they had to issue a refund by check and they go out in the mail on Friday (11/19/04).

I have waited again and it is now a week later (11/28/04) and I still have not recieved a refund. So now I am paying interest on my credit for this balance from almost 2 months ago.

Meanwhile I took the stereo to a shop in Wesleyville and the owner called me that same day and said there was only a bad solder point and only charged me $15.00 for labor.

Refund was given, chalk the time frame up to attempted theft by the customer!

Mr. Lorei brought in 2 items for service. He requested a refund and was told no problem, the check will be sent to you. He then showed my employee at the service counter the price he payed for the repair of both items (he did not complain about the repair of the other item). My employee copied down the price and sent him on his way.

The refund request was sent to our other office and was kicked back due to Mr Lorei's dishonesty. HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO GET BACK THE MONEY FOR BOTH ITEMS! We were in the process of straightening the amount to be refunded back to him with the office person handling this when we get a complaint from BBB. Now more time was invested into his dishonesty. We explained the situation to the BBB and after several days of correspondence with them we were ready to resolve the situation.

We then received a threatening letter from Mr. Lorei that he was filing suit unless his refund was sent within so many days. At this point I contacted My Attorney and advised him we were being harrassed by an unruly customer who had actually attempted theft by deception from us. Mr. lorei's refund would have gotten to him very quickly had he not attempted to steal from us! Mr Lorei's refund had actually been sent to him before the threatening letter was invoked.

Today I was informed of my company on this site. I would like to say after 65 years in business (myself having run it for the last 30) I have had very few problems with unhappy customers. Every once in a while someone with way too much time (as is obvious in this situation), and an axe to grind pulls a stunt like this. Well Mr Lorei, I have passed all this info along to my Attorney (Dennis Williams) and he seems to like the idea of your suggestion of a law suit...only not one invoked by you...see you in the New Year! Oh, and I also passed along the info on the store in Wesleyville that SUPPOSEDLY fixed your radio for $15.00 to some authorities that may be interested, (they will probably be contacting you also). You see actual businesses with employees, tax licenses, business insurance, health insurance, heat, electric, water, taxes, etc. do not repair items for $15.00. Backdoor wanna be businesses with no PA licenses do though. THE IRS LOVES THOSE GUYS!
