I received a letter in the mail that states:
"Since you have failed to voluntarily take care of this problem or to respond to our requests to communicate with us, you leave us no other chose but to file this complain with the state.
The face remains that you took control of services under false pretenses. You also refused to pay for your control over those services.
The laws of Illinois will determine the direction we will take against you.
a) Criminal charges will be determined after a thorough investigation of all Social Security numbers and banking records under your control.
b) Civil and contractual violations will be determined. Civil charges carry damages, attorney fees, court costs and interest. This case will be for the amount of $5,500.00, in addition to the punishment the judges decides.
c) We will attach and lein all personal assets and property, including garnishment of your wages.
d) Your name, social security number and driver's license number will be entered into a national database which will affect your current check writing and credit priveleges.
If you wish to sett this before we take action against you, you must call before the above filing date.
John Adler"
This guys name is John Adler. He says he stationed in Washington, D.C. but he sends his letters from Illinois. What he's doing is committing mail fraud by soliciting money on debts that don't exists and I'm not sure how he gets your information he's also not licensed to collect any debts. He threatens to issue a warrant for your arrest, report you to the authorities and says he's an investigator to intimidate you into paying him. My suggestion is to stalk him just like he's stalking you and to file a police report with your local authorities just in case anything weird happens. I would also suggest reporting him to the Federal Trade Commission / FCRA.

its fraud...file complaint with Attorney General office

I suggest you file a complaint with the Attorney General of your state and the Illinois
This clown is committing some bold violations which are contrary to the Fdcpa.
Do not send him money do not give him bank information. This cockroach needs to
be locked up for fraud. File a complaint with the FTC and provide them a copy of his letter.
Save all letters, if he should happen to call record his calls. I am sure he will use the arrest issue as a way intimidate you in paying him.
I had one these cockroaches threaten me and even had an attorney contact me. I turned around and told him that I did not owe the debt and I would contest it in court.
Additionally I would demand discovery and file a motion to compel discovery. I would even file for a jury trial. I also told him to serve in in xxxxx. wis. and he was located
in a county 100 miles north. Never heard from him again.
I also filed complaints with ag office and FTC. I also sent him a letter to provide validation of the debt.
good luck

Either she's gone scamming, or the office is being used as a mail drop, suspicious doesn't begin to describe this.
