Our Nightmare with SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) and the Partner XE system

We are out $10,250.00 which SIS Partner XE refuses to return after admittedly failing to perform on critical points.  Below is a chronological list of events that led to significant damage to our agency,

In December 2013 we signed with SIS Partner XE and gave them a check for $8,470.00 which included costs of converting our data to the new management system, onsite training, licenses, etc.

On 2-11-14 two employees of SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE did show up as promised and assisted us for 2 days with the conversion from our old management to the Partner XE Insurance Management System.  Shortly after their departure we found that documents that were correctly filed in our old system were misfiled in the new SIS Partner XE system. Luckily we had not cancelled our contract with the old management system and had continued paying for both systems.  For weeks the employees at SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE worked on finding a solution to this and a host of other problems that I’ll list later.  On 3-19-14 we received an email from SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE stating that they could not fix the issue.  They gave a lot of excuses that I believe amounted to a claim that the data provided by our old management system company had the documents misfiled.

Around 4-2-14 I contacted Michael Doran, CEO of SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE and told him that we had no choice but to end our relationship SIS and Partner XE.  I informed that we could no longer afford to pay for two management systems and we cannot operate with misfiled documents.  At this point he was a perfect gentleman, agreed that being forced to run two management systems was unacceptable and apologized for his company’s failure to perform.  He then asked that we give SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE another chance and said that he “Will Move Mountains” to get our data straightened out.  After considering it we decided that we could not afford the risk as we were already faced with a considerable task of converting data added since 2-11-14 back to the old management system.  At this point Michael Doran was still very professional and promised to have someone contact us about getting us a data backup of the data added since 2-11-14. We could take the entire dataset since it included the documents that were now misfiled.

Shortly after my conversation with Michael Doran I was contacted by Bill Eisman of SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) who was concerned with having me sign a termination letter that included a “Non Disparage” clause.  I informed him that I wouldn’t sign anything until I had my data.  I also informed him that I needed only the data that was added the SIS Partner XE system since 2-11-14.  A few days later the data backup arrived and we delivered it to our existing management system company.  Later we are informed by our current management system company that what SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE provided was the entire data set, including the misfiled documents.  Bill Eisman then told me that they couldn’t break it out.  After some back and forth with them I requested a list of new clients we added to the Partner XE system and a list of any existing clients in which we had added memos or documents and that we would manually pull the data out of Partner XE.  Again Bill Eisman was of no help.  After writing to Michael Doran we were finally given a way to pull the list of clients but were still being told that SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE could not automatically pull the data for us.  They said the “onus” was on the company importing the data to figure it out, which is ironic because they blamed the misfiled documents on the “exporting” company.

After many lost hours and putting ten employees to work on it including a long weekend we manually pulled all the data needed from Partner XE.  I then contacted Michael Doran, CEO of SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE and requested that they at least return the money we had paid even though the damage to our insurance agency was far greater.  This is when attitudes changed, from previous emails apologizing for “Our teams failure to deliver on our promises” to “We did everything we paid to do”.  Michael Doran, SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE is like a contractor that takes your money, botches the job, leaving you with a crumbling driveway and feels entitled to keep your money because they did incur costs and need to cover their overhead.

Problems with SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE.

  1. Conversion issues - You cannot trust your data - DO NOT turn off your old management system.
  2. Outlook Plug In – Did not work when sending emails to anyone using an Apple product.  With all the I-Phones being used today this was real problem.
  3. Speed – When opening a Client Profile it can take up to 16 seconds.  We were given many excuses for why this is not the fault of SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE and even changed to a very high speed cable internet provider which helped a little but it was still very slow. When you demo the system they tell you the real one is faster, it is not.
  4. Management – Michael Doran, CEO of SIS (Strategic Insurance Software) Partner XE is very professional and acts like they are accepting responsibility but when it comes down to the money his true colors are shown.  I am only glad that I didn’t buy his “I will move mountains” speech and stick around until the amount of data to manually pull would be impossible.
