I too received "Threats" from this company. I had someone who left her name as "Officer Laura" call me at work and leave me a message that said that a lawsuit was against me if I didn't call and resolve this in a timely manner. I too had gotten a loan from this company back in January of 2007. I went to my bank and got the statements from that month and the three months past that (February, march, and April of 2007). I only got 250.00 from this company. 75.00 came out in subsequent amounts in January, Feb, March and April. My bank loan officer told me that I had paid this loan in full 100%. During our phone call , "Officer Laura" was very rude, told me not to interrupt while she read her statement to me. SHe told me that A lawsuit was set to be started against me for failure to pay a loan fro SJM Marketing. She asked me if I wanted to resolve this. I told her yes. She seemed to get agitated that I did not have any money to take care of it right now so she was adamant about me sending her a fax stating that I was going to pay it on April 30. I did not send such fax. She "DICTATED" what she wanted me to say. She quoted my "social security number", my street address, my full name, and told me that I was to promise that I send her 850.00. I only received 250.00. She claimed she had the lawyer of the company on the line and when i asked for the number of the company and the lawyer she told me that I could not speak to them because they didn't want to comply or talk to me because I "SUPOOSEDLY" had not paid them. Again I have proof that I did. I called her on my break because the message she left was so intense. I only had 20 minutes to call her. I am a teacher and I needed to pick up my children. She seemed to get agitated when I was talking to the person who had my students as I picked them up about how they were. I told her as I was walking down the hall with my students and couldn't talk to her. My boss(principal) was coming down the hall and I could not be on the phone. I told her this and lowered the phone. She got very ugly and said that I did not need to interrupt her and this call could NOT be disconnected or I would be in serious trouble. She further got agitated because I was talking to my students once I got in the room and she told that I needed to focus or else. To get her off the phone I had to "AGREE" to fax her. I would think that if she was a company that she would have been more polite. I called her number back last night and the voice mail I received was "Hey, this is Laura. You may leave a message I will get back to you." The voice sounded disguised almost like a man. I wanted my bank to hear the voice mail recording. She answered the phone then. The person at the bank hung up the phone. This "Laura" called back and left me a voice mail stating that someone from that number had called her and she wanted them to call her back right NOW. Again not professional. I have personal issues with finance where I "FREAK" out when it comes to bills or money and my husband has to handle all our financial affairs. I have a basic fear of paying bills and money and have to see a therapist for this. This person that called me upset me so much yesterday that I ended up having to leave work. My principal had to get involved and let me leave so I could go to my therapist. This caused my students to miss out on their learning and the teacher across the hall from me to lose out as well. She ended up having to take my students and teach them Math with her class (DOUBLE CLASS LOAD) and them My principal had to find me an assistant to cover my classes. My blood pressure shot up as well and I was to the point of feeling very dizzy and sick. I basically fell apart. I even told this person that my husband handles all of our financial affairs and that I needed to talk to him about it and she told me there was no time because the lawsuit was being filed at 3 pm if I didn't comply. I do want contact from a lawyer. My cell phone is (((ROR REDACTED))) That is the number I use. I am very upset with this situation. This person called me at my place of work, left a very ugly message, and further spoke to me rudely and told me that I could not hang up to do my job because it had to be taken care of immediately. Furthermore, we are under bankruptcy law right now which means we are not to be called by any creditors. We are filing bankruptcy. I would lave to be contacted so I can pursue this further. Thank You!
