Contracted this company upon recommendation of a neighbor. There was an insurance claim from wind damage we received. Scott came out to give us an appraisal, and said he would work with us thru the insurance company to repair the damage. Unbeknownst to us, they emailed two invoices and we submitted the invoice that we saw in the email to our insurance company. That was paid....yet, the "hidden" invoice was still behind the scenes....I notified the company that all of this was supposed to be on ONE invoice so that insurance would handle it all. Thinking they had handled everything properly, we receive a notice of past due invoice! Scott never handled the claim properly, and now they have filed a court claim against us for the value of the property....all over $375! The deceit is obvious, and they never intended to help us in any way in filing of the insurance claim! Additionally, they LOST our check that I hand carried to them and made a fuss over that as well..... I wouldnt trust this firm in any manner. They are unprofessional, and take advantage of clients over THEIR mistakes.... very disorganized. I am making a point of telling all of our neighbors about this, even the one who recommended them.... and will tell the story to whomever may listen. Stay away from S&K Roofing, Marylanders! They will get you one way or another....

Annonymous complaints are easy to post and impossible to defend. Call the office. Thats how complaints are handled. We will service 2000 customers this year, all reputably. We do not deal with insurance agents for payment. We deal directly with the homeowner. Some customers expect the service provider to go out of pocket insteadof themselves. We do not do that and we don't tell our customers that we will. I am available by phone at any time.

My correction to the principals involved....Don Katzenberger is the person who gave us the quote, not Scott Hanel.... Don is the President of the company, and the one who assured us that this was going to be handled professionally and smoothly, walking us thru the process properly.
