the original company salesman came by door to door . He advised my wife and I that he was sure we had roof damage as a result of Hurricane Wilma, Several years prior. He offered to do a free roof inspection and was granted permission. When he finished he confirmed that we needed a new roof due to numerous loose roof tiles. He further stated he could get us a new foof for no cost as he would eat the deductable since the company was making so much money from the insurance company. I adved if that could be done do it but do not bother me until you either get the approval or denial. I signed a contract. There were several meetings between the salesman and the insurance company over the next year.

One day a new salesman arrived at the door informing me the original guy was no longer with the company. He advises me he is taking over and that he will handle everything and he does not see a problem. After a few weeks the salesman again shows up with his wife/girlfriend. They ask if there was any other damage from the hurricane I would loke added to the claim. I showed them damage that ha occurred that I never informed the insurance company since it was below or deductable. They told me it was going to be added to the claim. The damage was to the top floor ceilings that cracked from what I believe was the movement of the 2nd story.

Again some time passed and I was told the Insurance company wanted to go to arbritration. What the salesman called an umpire meeting. I was not present at the meeting at hte request of the salesman and his wife. I was informed and later it was verified by documents that I was awarded a roof and damages for the interior.

The roof was started and so did the troubles. First the workers broke the windshield of my truck and denied it. Lucky for me I have video cameras and it was caught on tape. Next my patio screens and gutters were damaged. These items took forever to get repaired and the gutters are horrible. The joints look like a 1st grader did them and the downspout in three different colors. The subs who came to do the install of the underlayment did not roll the paper as required. Again they said they did but I had proof they did not.

Next the title crew broke the intake and discharge pipe on my sprinkler pump. Skyhigh sent out a guy to fix it who had no idea what he was doing. I finally had to hire an irrigation man to make the repair and fight to be repaid. The same subs stacked tiles on the main roof and had them fall onto the garage rood causing damage. I called the salesman who in turned called the crew on my roof. The salesman was told there was no damage not knowing I had taken photos of the damaged area. They then failed to use form to secure the area of replaced tiles and had to return to make a correct repair after I again complained.

When the roof was completed I asked about the interior work and was blow off. Finally I was contacted and told there was no money to do the interior. After
several weeks I wrote a letter to the company and advised them of my position. I informed them I would hold back funds for the damage and interior since the insurance company had paid for the interior work. I received a nasty phone message informing me if I did not give them the entire amount they would place a lien on my house.

I then contacted skyhighs in house counsel who I was lead to believe was a lawyer. I later found out he is not a member of the Florida Bar and can only act in the capacity of giving advice. He initally was helpful in trying to settle the matter. I agreed to release Skyhigh in regards to the interior and in turn I would receive a release of lien from Skyhigh and the roof wind mitigation report. We met at my house and I was informed they forgot the mitigation report but would send it. We exchanged the other items. I was asked to drop my complint with the BBB. I explained I would after I received the report. I never did receive the report and Skyhigh through it in house counsel told the BBB they gave me a discount and therefore would not provide the report. I have since had an attorney send a letter to the company and after a week have received no response.

I do not recommend Skyhigh to anyone now. All my neighbors who are using them are have some type of trouble. All they care about is the money. I my case I feel as if there has been fraud committed on the insurance company and myself.

response to hard to foolme

AUTHOR: Bart - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 04, 2010

Dear Hard to fool me,

Really what you stated is so far from the truth. First my roof was covered under my homeowners. Second I was not going to commit insurance fraud by claiming damage and not having it repaired. Third I made the mistake of not knowing the law and not reading the entire contract. Fourth I believed what I was told so go back to item three. My bill was paid and the company never completed the job, minor items.

The salesman who responded above I am told no longer works for the company.

I suggest no matter who you deal with get mutiple estimates and check the company out with the State, the County or city and the BBB.  The old addage of something for nothing rings true. I made a mistake and just want to forward others

Not from Where I stand

I would expect an employee to stand up for his employer. Why would he not in an economy where jobs are scarce. All I can say is do your hmework, get mutiple estimates, check the BBB, and get it in writting from the owner not the sales person. In other words buyer beware.

Skyhigh Siding & Roofing, Inc. Is a Good, Honest Company

AUTHOR: Danny - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, March 25, 2010

Skyhigh Siding & Roofing, Inc. (Skyhigh) was surprised to learn that one of our customers wrote a report about Skyhigh in the Ripoff Report.  I am an employee of Skyhigh who actually worked on this job.  I am responding to Barts comment about Skyhigh, so that prospective customers will be able to read both sides of the story.  Please keep in mind that out of the thousands of customers for whom Skyhigh has performed work, only 2 have written something in Ripoff Report and 1 of those customers essentially retracted his statement a short time later.  Skyhigh has an A rating with the BBB.

Barts roof did not meet Florida Building Code and his home had sustained some interior damage as a result.  Bart signed a contract with Skyhigh for a roof replacement and interior repairs for the price that the insurance company set note that Skyhigh is both a licensed general contractor and licensed roofing contractor in the State of Florida.  The contract was contingent on his insurance company paying for the work.  Barts insurance company paid for a full roof replacement and some interior repairs.  Although Bart wanted Skyhigh to eat his deductible, Skyhigh made it very clear that we do not pay customers deductible and that he would be required to pay it, per his contract.

Unfortunately, with any construction project, accidents can happen.  It is true that Barts windshield was damaged during the construction process.  This was due to his vehicle being parked in his driveway during his tile install.  It is very rare for a homeowner to leave a car in the driveway during a roof replacement, but for some reason Bart left his car in the driveway.   Skyhigh apologized for damaging the windshield and we replaced his windshield without hesitation.  Also, during the removal of his old roof, a tile fell off of his two story house and hit his pump.  Although Skyhigh sent someone to fix the problem, Bart wanted his own irrigation man to replace the pump.  Skyhigh reimbursed Bart for this cost.  In short, if Skyhigh damaged Barts property, Skyhigh worked with our customer to correct the problem by either repairing/replacing the damaged item or reimbursing Bart the money he spent to have the repair performed.  Bart failed to mention that his roof passed final inspection when the building department performed the inspection.  Bart also failed to mention that Skyhigh is providing an excellent warranty on his roof.

Bart wanted Skyhigh to complete a mitigation report for him for free.  A mitigation report is not part of the contract.  However, as a courtesy to our customers, Skyhigh completes the mitigation reports free of charge for good customers.  Skyhigh is able to perform mitigation inspections because we are a licensed general contractor, not just a licensed roofing contractor.  Skyhigh did not give Bart a free mitigation report.  We offered to complete one for him, but he said he did not want to pay for it.  Bart made the following comment in his report, I have since had an attorney send a letter to the company and after a week have received no response.  Skyhighs attorney (who is a member of both the Florida Bar and the Texas Bar) responded promptly to Barts attorney.  If Barts attorney did not communicate back to Bart, that is not Skyhighs fault.  Barts attorneys letter demanded that Skyhigh complete a mitigation report for free.  After Skyhigh went through the contract with Barts attorney and explained the facts, it was clear that Skyhigh complied with all terms of the contract.

In closing, Barts complaint about Skyhigh is both inaccurate and unfair.  In an effort to cause problems for Skyhigh, Bart complained to other agencies.  These agencies said that Skyhigh complied with codes and had done nothing wrong.  Skyhigh stands by our work and we received a number of referrals from Barts neighbors because of great work we performed.  We did everything that we agreed on per our contract and we believe that Barts complaint is unfounded.  If we did not do something, it is because Bart wanted it done for free or at a significant discount, contrary to the contract that he signed with Skyhigh.  Skyhigh is both a licensed general contractor and licensed roofing contractor in the state of Florida.  We provide our customers with high quality roofing and general contracting services, and stand by our warranty.  Skyhigh is a local company that is here before, during, and after the storm.

Please give Skyhigh an opportunity to show you that just because someone wrote comments about our company on the internet, it does not mean that his/her comments are true.
