Sleepy Sheep Ranch failed to deliver a pre- paid product in a timely manner. On May 27, 2013, I redeemed a Living Social deal (paid $ 39.00) with Sleepy Sheep Ranch (SSR) for a Rack of Lamb - value of $ 80.00 and paid SSR an additional $ 28.95 for shipping directly with PayPal. This was a father's gift.  Upon completion of the order, no delivery date was set, so I followed up with an email on May 27, 2013, indicating a preferred delivery date of June 12 - 15. I did not receive response. On May 31, 2013, I emailed SSR again regarding delivery date and status of the order. In response, I received a general form email indicating the lambs are in the field, they should be in and ready for packing in 3 weeks and I could order more at a 25% discount. On June 17, 2013, UPS issued a tracking label, on SSR's behalf indicating a delivery of June 21, 2013. The rack of lamb was not shipped at this time. As of June 24, 2013, the rack of lamb had not been shipped. On July 7, 2013 I emailed SSR indicating I had not received the rack of lamb and a search of the UPS tracking number, continued to read label printed on June 17, 2013. I did not receive a response from SSR. July 13, 2013- called SSR at (903) 819-2873 left a voice mail message, emailed SSR. No response. July 15, 2013 - called SSR at 5:43 p.m. - voice mail box was full, emailed SSR at 5:50 p.m., called at 5:51 p.m. voice mail box full. Did not receive a response to my email. July 16, 2013, called SSR at 9:29 a.m. left a message. Up to this point I had not received any direct or personal communication from SSR.

 

On July 16, 2013, I received a one line email from Kristy at SSR, indicating the order would be delivered on July 19, 2013. UPS tracking search, confirmed shipment. Item was delivered on July 19, 2013 at 4:45 p.m. - the bags of dry ice were empty, the shrink wrap on the rack of lamb had been broken, the meat was hot to the touch and blood was present throughout the container. The rack of lamb was non consumable. I immediately called SSR at 4:50 p.m., the line rang 12 times and then went to a busy signal. I called SSR again at 4:51 p.m. received the voicemail message. I left a detailed message, indicating the rack of lamb was hot to the touch, shrink wrap had been violated and the presence of blood in the container. I requested a refund. I filed a claim with UPS for damaged goods. UPS indicated they would refund the money to SSR, not directly to me. I called SSR on July 20, 2013, at 2:17 pm. the voice mail box was full, I was unable to leave a message. I called SSR on July 21, 2013, at 12:51 p.m. left a detailed voice mail message describing the delivery condition of the item, UPS damage claim, my contact information and requested a refund. On July 22, 2013, I initiated a dispute through PayPal requesting a refund. On July 22, 2013 at 8:27 a.m. I emailed David Mitchell with a PayPal Invoice ID. I received a response at 9:43 a.m requesting my phone number with David indicating he would "give you a call real quick". I responded via email at 10:00 a.m. with my phone number. I emailed David again on July 22, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. with my home and cell phone number and indicated I had not received a phone call.

 

It is July 24, 2013 at 5:46 p.m. and David has not called. I emailed David on July 24, 2013 at 8:35 p.m., requesting a refund. I called at 8:37 a.m. and left a message indicating I expected a refund. July 24, 2013, Received an email from David at 9:34 a.m. indicating he will refund the portion paid through PayPal, but I would have to seek compensation from Living Social for the remainder. I emailed David at 9:39 a.m. indicating I had been in touch with Living Social, accordingly SSR is responsible to refund the monies. I renewed my request for a full refund. I Received an email at 3:47 p.m. indicating the PayPal portion has been refunded. SSR refuses to communicate except when their PayPal status was at stake, refuses to refund my money paid through Living Social, does not answer the phone, will not return voice mail messages and only selectively answers email issues.  SSR might actually profit from the UPS damage claim I filed, as UPS will only pay the shipper.  Perhaps SSR was already aware of this.
