Small Business Transportation (SBT) Freight101.com Fraud Internet

SBT Freight101.com is a shipping broker.  They quoted several carriers to ship my item (worth $1000 and weighing 536 lb), and listed liability insurance ($10,000) for that shipment.  The item was shipped and severely damaged during shipping, so I refused the shipment.  When I contacted SBT to start the insurance claim, they said the item was only covered for $0.1/lb ($54) by the carrier.  They said that the $10,000 liability insurance that they listed when I purchased the shipping was FOR NEW ITEMS ONLY.  It does not say anything about whether items shipped are new or used anywhere in their terms or conditions.  I am out the $1000 for the item that was destroyed and the nearly $300 in shipping has not been refunded either. 

When I spoke with "customer service" about this, they said I didn't understand anything about the shipping industry, and there was nothing they could do.  I asked them to show me where on the quote page or the terms and conditions it reference "new" or "used" equipment, and they could not.  They basically agreed with me that the website was misleading.

I would not recommend anyone using this company to arrange shipping.  You would be better off contacting a shipper yourself.
