My wife & I wish we had done more research prior to working with Mr. Chris Horney @ SmartPartner Homes. They sub out all of their work and due to the fact that the modular walls were damp when erected the drywall started to crack and screws poped all over once the lumber began to dry out. The subs they used, told us that they don't like to use the pre-fab lumber because they can not adjust fit or squareness of the walls, etc. This really makes for a nightmare when it comes to finishing out bathrooms, kitchens, etc. Some of the subs never finished the work because they were not getting paid on work as it was being done which cause many delays. If you are interested in a house that is thrown up quickly, and cabinets are snapped in place, and are not worried about living there too long, then consider the panelized, modular lumber package. I will say one thing.....It's not "Smart" to have a "Partner" involved with your "Home". We had a hard time even corresponding with them since they keep on the move and won't publish an address other than a PO Box.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

R Smith is not a client of Smart Partner Homes

AUTHOR: Chris - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, March 22, 2010

R Smith nevered purchased from Smart Partner Homes, there are no records of a R Smith ever existing in our client data base or public records of recorded mortgages, land transactions, or deeds. We have never built a home for any family with the last name of Smith.

Smart Partner Homes provided an modified Owner Builder program which entailed a service that cleared all sub contractor transactions of behalf of the customer. No liens have ever been filed for non payment on any project ever.

All lumber is pre-fabricated in the housing industry. All bathrooms and kitchens were complete upon erection of the modular home. Many of the complaints are not possible with a modular home and are unfounded.

Only the finest cabinets from Merillat were used when constructing our homes as well as the finest modular home builders in the industry, Excel Homes and Pro-Built Homes located in central PA. Smart Partner blended the best practices of site construction along with modular construction to provide the best value for the money.

Unfortunately after 5 years in the home building industry Smart Partner Homes was closed for the lack of mortgage funding available in the housing community.

It is my belief that this is an potential attack from a former competitor.
