Smarthome.com.au sell Z-Wave Home Automation products, Foscam IP Cameras and other technology items.

They are a Melboune based online company run by Frans De Greef and his wife Carly De Greef. Their former company that has been delisted is Smarthome Australasia Pty Ltd, their new company is Global Technology Corporation Pty LtdNote this has NOTHING to do with the businesses Smarthome.com or Smarthome Australia Pty Ltd.

After having spent thousands on automation products from their company and having to wait 6+ months the the order to trickle through bit-by-bit, the company closed without notice to any customers. I personally had approximately $500 worth of products owning that I could not be credited for by my credit card company as the duration of the delivery dragged out over too long. I have been in contact with 4 other people online who have lost between $88 to just over $1000 each, and the more I look, the more individuals I can see online via forums that have have paid them and not had products delivered.

Frans De Greef closed Smarthome Australasia Pty Ltd (trading on the website Smarthome.com.au) on April 2nd, 2014 with no more than a sign on their shopfront door (keeping in mind this is an online-bsed company) and the removal of their website. No email correspondance was provided or responded to, and no phone calls were answered or messages returned.

In late May 2014, the same website with a different format has with Carly De Greef listed as the website owner on WHOIS and the Director as per an Australian Securities and Investment Commission record search.

Beware, Frans De Greef and Carly De Greef who operate Smarthome.com.au cannot be relied upon to deliver products once they have recieved their money.

This is in response to comments posted by "Global Tech Corp" who tellingly have hidden themselves behind an anonymous submission.  If what they are saying is true then why don't they put a name to the response?

1) GTC is a global network of suppliers, etc: if this were true then why can't any details be found of this "Global" corporation?

2) The legal entity GTC is a separate legal entity altogether from SHA: This may be true 'legally' however it is the same people behind both companies which an ASIC search will reveal.

3) (a) A Whois of the Smarthome Australia domain name reveals that it is in Carly de Greef's name - refer to point 6 below.

4) See point 2 above

5) Then why use the same company name, domain name, directors, and website?

6) Ms C. de Greef is Mr F. de Greef's legal wife - not much separation there is there now?  As is proven by their Facebook profiles among other things.

7) These vouchers are only for discounts of 25% off the full price of their products and are not a replacement for items not delivered.

8) Email address is not valid.

 

In summary: this is a phoenix company that will most likely repeat their poor business practices resulting in many unsatisfied customers with little recourse to recover their lost funds.

This is in response to comments posted on this forum in relation to Global Technology Corporation Pty Limited (GTC). Some of the comments and accusations stated in these comments are inaccurate and GTC management wishes to make the following statements relating to its corporate status, business dealings and relations.

1. GTC is a global network of suppliers, product developers, distributors and IT professionals that work together to provide GTC’s customers with cost-effective and high quality technology solutions.
2. The legal entity Global Technology Corporation Pty Limited (GTC) is a separate legal entity altogether from Smarthome Australia Pty Limited (SHA)
3. GTC has
a. Purchased the domain name www.smarthome.com.au of SHA
b. Purchased the customer mailing list of SHA
4. GTC has no other business relations with SHA
5. GTC wishes to distance itself from SHA explicitly
6. GTC has appointed Ms C. de Greef as director of GTC. As per ASIC, Ms de Greef has no ownership in SHA.
7. As GTC has a vested interest in future business from some ex-Smarthome customers, it has been, and continues to offer the following upon written request:
An amount in vouchers, equal to the value of the last transaction with SHA that either suffered delays or was not delivered. All Smarthome customers can apply, irrespective of a successful charge-back, under the criteria as stated above. 
8. Any enquiries relating to past business should be directed to SHA. SHA has published the the following email address:smarthome_accounts@outlook.com for customer communications.
