Smartmove Auto Rip Off, Lemon, Dishonest Morrow Georgia

I bought a car from Smartmove Auto back in February because with the down payment that I had and the situtation that I was in they were the only ones that promised to help me. I took him the deposit and drove off of the lot the same day. The car did have mechanical problems that were promised to be fixed.

After 30 days, I still had not received my title information and was given a temporary tag by the tag office until Smartmove could get this sorted out. At that time we found out that the car wasn't registered to Smartmove Auto, but to the previous owner. After 30 more days, Smartmove still had not processed my tag information and agreed that they would either repair the car or have my tag ready for me BEFORE I paid my next car payment.

We agreed on a date and time to take the car to be repaired (I was to pay the car note after they repaired the car) and as soon as I got the car to the mechanic to be repaired Dennis from Smartmove Auto told them to not return the keys or car to me and he was sending someone over to pick up the car. At 6 1/2 months pregnant, I had to walk to go pay my car note in order for them to repair the car and return my keys.

Once the temporary tag from the tag office expired I returned the car and the keys to Smartmove to only have them tell me they could give me another tag (which is illegal) and if I returned the car it was going to damage my credit. After all of the problems I went through with Smartmove and the advice I received from the DMV and BBB, the best thing was to return the car.

I spent more money on rental cars than I did for this car altogether. My advice-- if you HAVE to buy a car from Smartmove Auto go to the Decatur location, get it in writing, or go to J.D. Byrider(the best thing that happened to me).
