I purchased a membership from SMC and was under the impression that you could get an online business started for $25, but that was not the case. I would end up paying close to $3,000 for what they, Emerchant Club, they are SMCorp website builders, called a website.

You would not believe the pressure they forced upon me, constantly called me all day long. They kept reminding me of how much money I could be making online and how easy it was to sell these products. It was almost as if they would sell themselves, NOT!!! Not once did Emerchant Club mention promotion (search engines) to get traffic to your website.

Anyway, it was about 45 days before I would see my site and I was disappointed. It was cluttered, cheap and cheesy looking. Emerchant Club made it seem so easy to manage the site and it wasn't, I had to learn HTML and Java Script (very frustrating and confusing) in order to make changes to the site.

They also charged me $150 to add a page and every little thing had to go through a Webmaster for a fee. They would say that they were going to notify you when task was complete, but they never do.

Since I had already paid for the site and was not able to get a refund, I had no other choice, but to keep the site and utilize it. I had to learn on my own how to submit my site to the search engines because they were talking about some more money and lots of it.

The final straw came this summer when they were doing upgrades and they said started out at $400. I had just paid them close to $3,000 and now I had to pay another $400 or more? These upgrades were suppose to be HTML friendly, affiliate tracking, new and improved Night Manager, etc.

I wasn't about to give up anymore money for this website, so I started searching around for an easier to use website. I found one at www.smcinternet.com . They have so many different services and they were located in my state. I tried the site free for 15 days without any form of money up front and I LOVED IT!!!

Customer Service is GREAT and Tech Support is AWESOME!!!
This site cost me less than $300 and I can make changes myself.
It has everything intergrated into their system.

I'm talking about search engines, affiliate tracking, merchant accounts, countless number of themes for your site, background music and so much more.

All and all, SMC/Emerchant Club prices are outrageous when it comes to building websites, but the products are great. If you want an affordable website, check out www.smcinternet.com and you'll be glad you did.
