I went to SmileCare because of a broken tooth. They quickly told me I needed over $1500 worth of deep cleaning and Arestin treatments. I wisely decided to check out this new gimmick and found out that Arestin is not the end all for periodental disease (which is not as "severe" as SmileCare reported it to be). Please do second opinions!!
The best of all is the fact that I am allergic (deathly so) to Tetracycline which is the direct family of antibiotics used in Arestin and included in the contraindications for Arestin use. SmileCare also wants to charge $409 for a crown, something my insurance info said they should only be charging $250 for. There are enough reasons to avoid going to the dentist, I am more worried about being ripped off by a dentist than a mechanic!
