I ordered the complete Newhart series from SmileDvd.co.uk. It came from China although the company is located in the USA and billing is done by some other company, who knows where. Kimberley Weis is the person who fronts this company, and apparently a number of others as well. She is "customer service" for SmileDVD, but has an ordinary Google Mail account. I exchanged about 30 emails with her in my attempt to sort out the mess ordering from them got me into.

When the set of DVDs arrived, they had been packaged in a very makeshift way by Mr Wu in China. The quality of the copies was quite poor, but the real problem was that many discs were duplicates, and so a great number of episodes were missing.

I took this up with SmileDVD, and Kimberley told me to go through all the set of DVDs to identify the missing episodes and they would be replaced. It turned out then that they hadn't got any replacement discs, so I had wasted a huge amount of time to no avail.

I was then offered a partial refund if I kept the discs I had, or a full refund if I returned the original order (by registered post) to China. I opted for the full refund.

The refund took many weeks to come, and I had to chase it up. I was surprised it came at all. However it did not include postage/shipping charges which set me back £24. Kim (is she the whole company?) refused to refund the postage charges in spite of the earlier promise of a "full" refund. I pointed out that when I placed the original order it didn't say anything about separate postage and shipping charges. When I pursued this with Kimberley she simply stopped answering my emails, even although the company promises "Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed". I think not!

SmileDVD has wasted an enormous amount of my time and cheated me out of £24. DO NOT have anything to do with them, or any other company where Kimberley Weis turns up. Presumably she is doing the same work under different company names.

You don't get what the website promises, but they do get your money

AUTHOR: hwdmar - ()

POSTED: Monday, March 02, 2015
The name to beware of is Kimberly Weis. Other people have posted complaints I have read on the internet identical to what follows here.

Several months ago in August 2014 I ordered the complete set of Newhart in DVDs from a website called 'smiledvd.co.uk'.

I thought I was dealing with an American company, and I understand Kimberly Weis does operate from the US, but the DVDs were dispatched from China. They were poor copies and much of the "complete" set was missing.

I did manage to get a partial refund, but although the website said postage was free to the UK this promise was not honoured, and I had to pay to send the DVDs back to China by registered post. What it means is that I have been cheated out of £25.00 (25 pounds sterling).

I don't like having money stolen, but it is a loss I will get over. What concerns me particularly however is that this same thing is happening to other people as well. Kimberly Weis and her associates, if she has any, are making a good living out defrauding unwary internet shoppers out their money. They are common thieves, and need to be stopped. Reviews such as this one will also serve to warn others to stay away.

The website I visited has of course been taken down, but I understand from others who have been similarly scammed that Kimberly Weis operates other websites, and of course they also in turn can be closed down in their turn and replaced by others.

It seems that Kimberly Weis is the 'customer service' person for these websites. She operates a Google mail account, and she will string you along for any length of time with empty promises until you realize there is no future in it.

This person is a total fraud. Stay well clear.
