Solace Funding loan scam ripoff bad credit loan offer SCAM Rockport Maine

This company approached me with a personal loan offer of $10,000 on the condition that I provided the "lender" with collateral in the amount of $1006.00. The entire thing sounded too good to be true as I do not have the best credit in the world. The "loan officer" stated that I could have a loan in the amount of $10,000.00 at the rate of 8% over three years.

This "loan" was from a private lender that just liked to help people out in situations like mine. The condition was that I provide the lender with the first 5 payments up front as collateral for the loan. This money of mine was to be wired via moneygram to the lender and within 24hrs my bank account would have $10,000 in it.

I tried to research the company and found that they have a web site and had no reports against them with the BBB in Maine. This seemed legitimate however the website seemed a bit generic and therefore fishy. I decided against the "loan" because it just seemed way too risky.

Out of curiosity I looked online a week later to see if this "company" still existed, to see if my instincts were correct and sure enough, the website is gone and so is the phone number. I saved myself from getting scammed, but this seems like a group of people that can have the same scam up and running in a matter of hours with another name. I just want to report this to hopefully save other individuals from the same scary scam...
