I purchased a ride on car jeep for my son for Christmas. At the time i purchased the car the website did not say that we were going to have construct the car ourselves. When we (My husband and I) recieved the car, we realised that we had to construct it ourselves.
The instructions to construct the car were on two separate sheets, one in poorly written English and one in Chinese. It was very difficult to read but nevertheless we perservered.It took us two hours to build the car. Once it was built we started to charge up the battery , we spent the full 12 hours charging the battery. After the full time of charging the car would not go.
So i emailed SOLDSMART to see if we could return the car. Their response was to offer us a $55 refund and free parts to fix the car. I objected to this as it is not my responsibility to repair a faulty item , it is the company's responsibility to honor their product. Several emails have gone back and forth and each time they are refusing to give us a full refund once they recieve the car back to their warehouse.
Their website offers refunds for faulty good, as well as a paid return pastage. On one of the emails they said that we would have to organise to get the item checked to see what parts were needed- they did not tell us where, we had to spend however long finding a place to fix it ourselves or paying an electircian to do it, which i refuse . On another occasion they told us to get a courier and they would swap the item for another one- I do not want another car from them when this one has cause us so much trouble.
Also , they should be organising the courier not us. There are many issues with the way this company has conducted business, not to mention when I did a search of them on the internet several websites came up with many customer complaints with exactly the same issues I have experienced. I hoursspent many hours emailing them trying to get a result each time to no avail. I am at my wits end.

Yes , as this company says , they eventually refunded me. However the whole process took me about a month to complete. Soldsmart refuses to offer full refunds , as a sign of standing by their products- they clearly dont. They simply want to make some quick cash and wash their hands of their "customers" - should I say unsuspecting victims.
I have spent the equivalent of about 6 hrs responding to emails- for which I usually get paid about $300 for that amount of work in my profession. These people are crooks- I cant tell you how much they tried to evade all requests for refunds until I got THe Dept of Fair Trade in NSW involved and lodged a report on this website- it seems in order to get what you want from them you have to use the law and publicity . May I also say to took them two weeks to issue the cash refund once they recieved the car back .
ALL I CAN SAY IS DONT EVER USE SOLDSMART THEY ARE CROOKS AND SHOULD BE SHUTDOWN BY THE GOVERNMENT CONSIDERING THE SHODDY PRACTICES THEY DO- EVIDENCED BY THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEM ON THIS AND VARIOUS OTHER WEBSITES.
WHATEVER REBUTTAL YOU FILE SOLDSMART- I HAVE DONE MORE DAMAGE TO YOU BY PUBLICISING THIS- YOU MESSED WITH THE WRONG CUSTOMER. I SUGGEST YOU START BEING GOOD TO CUSTOMERS SO YOU CAN GET SOME FAVOURABLE REPORTS TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE YOU HAVE DONE TO YOURSELVES

Faulty ride on Car

After filing the report with RipoffReport.com and lodging a complaint with the NSW Dept of Fair Trade I emailed your company to notify your "Customer Service" that I had taken this action. I was replied quite swiflty within the 24 hour time frame and as well as making the previous offer to me of a partial refund of $55 which would include the spare parts needed to fix the car, a second offer was made and that was to give me the full refund that I had to ask for SEVERAL TIMES (each of which was consistantly ignored until now). So finally after lodging these complaints it seems that your company responds to a customer who will use the law and Govt Depts to get what they are entitled to.
Mike in customer support at Soldsmart has initiated the process for a full refund and when the ride on car is picked up by the courier and the money is back in my account , then I will update this report and withdraw my complaint from NSW Dept of Fair Trade. The money has to be back in my account before I will withdraw any complaints.
For your reference to see the many emails I have sent the order no was :822107 .
I found Alisha the person who was responding to my emails to be very unhelpful and purposely avoiding any of my questions to provide me with a refund, to which as you know I am entitled to.
