Here are the straight facts about the "Southern California Grou/ SoCal Group:

When you call for an interview (or they call you)..

1. They won't tell you straight up that is it only commission based, no base salary, no hourly pay. On the phone before an interview they will tell you they aren't really sure when they will offer you for compensation, a complete lie. The girls who work in the front office have all been field workers at some point and know exactly what the compensation will be: nothing but commission.

2. They will hire anyone and everyone who is smart enough to do commission based sales but not overqualified that they know better than to get involved in a business like this.

3. On their ads for employment, it states that compensation is $30-40k. In the entire time I worked there I don't know of anyone who made that much. Most people on average make about $20k a year (if they stayed that long) or about $300 for a
50-60 hour work week.

4. They offer incentives for bonuses which keep people in the business. The problem with the bonuses is that most people don't see them in a paycheck. There was always some type of loophole or fine print they would tell you about after and make you believe that next time you would get that extra $300 or whatever the bonus.

5. They will entice you by taking you out to various activities at least once a week. It's a very fun environment but after working a 10 hour day, extra activities suck up any extra time that is left. It's a way to keep people in the game. Activities such as camping trips or going out to bars often resulted in rumors of people in the office sleeping with each other on a regular basis. It often sounded more like an orgy than an office activity.

6. There wasn't a single person who worked there that didn't live with several other room mates (other people from the office) or depend on their parents. None of them could afford otherwise without going into a great deal of debt. Even the owner, Tedford Picha lives with several people from the office. For someone who makes (supposedly) 10k a week that seems very strange.

Please don't waste your time with this company. If you want to become a business owner someday there are a million better ways to do this without putting yourself through this torture.
