I paid for a male Shih Tzu that I named Peanut in September of 2010, and he died at the breeders before he was sent to me.
I agreed to get another one from the same breeder as a replacement, I named him Semi. He died 2 days after I got him of Parvo.
The breeder offered to refund my money and help me pay the vet bill which was $220.00
I asked a couple of days later if she had any breeder friends who owed her a dog that I could look at and save her having to pay me back, and I would still get a dog. She did and I picked one.
She agreed to pay for a parvo test on new puppy and the shipping and in return I said I would pay the vet bill.
I tried for weeks to get an update on the new puppy and kept getting the brush off. Finally it is January and Jacob the third puppy is now over 8 weeks and I still haven't gotten any updated since the first contact from other breeder. I sent an email saying I needed to know my puppy was okay or my money back.
I got an email stating he had a virus and no explanation, and that she would give me my money back. I found out through the Breeder he was coming from that he also had parvo and died.
I ask for $100.00 towards the vet bill with my refund seeing how she wasn't going to be sending me a puppy, so she wouldn't be paying any shipping costs. I had already paid the $220. that the bill was.
Since that time I have been unable to get a responce from her about paying me any restitution.
Be sure to request a parvo test if you buy from Jessica. I thought she was my friend, but she has no intention of keeping her word. I would not buy a puppy unless you could pick it up. All I want is for her to do the right thing and pay me back!

Jessica paid our agreement as we had worked out. She no longer owes me anything, I am completely satisfied by the way things worked out. I am also looking into purchasing another dog from jessica.

Breeder working me, Vet can't explain why 1 puppy got parvo and not another.

Since this report has been filed Jessica has been working with me to resolve this matter, and pay
me back for the puppy I paid for and never got. The vet is sure that my puppy had parvo, but said
also that it is difficult to determine how a puppy gets it and why one puppy would get it and not another. Somehow 10-14 days before coming to me he was exposed and couldn't fight it off, the
puppy that shipped with him and was the same age, and shared the same space as him never got it. The only point I was trying to make by admitting he had parvo, was that I did nothing to cause his death, he was sick when he came to me. Parvo is a virus and like all viruses some can get it and others don't. The timing of the shots and weaning plus the young age, and weight can all make it difficult to guarentee that they are protected, until the complete round of shots is completed at 16 weeks. I do not know if any other dogs contracted it at Jessica's. We were in contact during that time and I have no knowledge of any other dogs contracting it. The vet said it was possible for one puppy to have a comprimised immune system and get parvo while others wouldn't. We are now working on the terms of restitution, that will be fair to both parties involved.
