Southern Tier Agency, Inc - Patrick M Corbett, Esq - Lloyd Leon Threatened, demanded, taking payments when they weren't supposed to causing overdraft charges Orchard Park New York

2007 I made a payday loan with Cash Direct Express for $300. When I found I couldn't make payments, I included Cash Direct in the payment counselling company, Care One, paying this loan payment through them. I paid every month and received a letter from Care One telling me that my account for Cash Direct Express was paid through a collection agency called Southern Tier Agency.

This past February, I received a call from my son's mother-in-law, whom I don't know that well and doesn't even live close by, telling me that Patrick Corbett's office called and wanted my phone number or to get hold of me for them, they were a collection agency. I was mortified, couldn't believe they would call her and leave that kind of message. At this time, I didn't have a clue what this was about.

The next day my daughter-in-law's sister called me telling me that Patrick Corbett's office had called her & told her to call me & give me their phone number. Again I was highly embarrassed.

I called the number for Corbett's law office the next day and this man, Lloyd Leon, told me that I owed their collection agency $500 for a payday loan that I had not paid. When I asked which one as I had several, he didn't tell me the name, just said they would garnish my paycheck if I didn't make a payment arrangement.

Just so they would stop the embarrassing calls, I made arrangement to pay $50 a pay (I get paid every 2 weeks) until the loan was paid.

They actually took a payment when they weren't supposed to and I got charged a $34 overdraft charge. When I called and told them, their answer was actually "too bad"
Now, when this was paid, they sent me a paper telling me and I found out it was for Cash Direct Express, Southern Tier Agency, which I had already paid through Care One. Cash Direct Express actually used 2 different collection agencies thus getting paid twice.

I have called the first collection agency, PD Recovery and also Patrick Corbett's offce and of course they each say the other company owes me my $500 back. This has been going on since June 2008 and now I can't even get anyone to accept my calls.

The man at Patrick Corbett's office, Lloyd Leon, has to be one of the rudest men I have ever spoken to. I know it is probably impossible to ever see my $500 again but I just needed to tell you this.
