I was hired at Southwest Marketing in December of 2004. I worked there for four weeks, during which time I made a grand total of $25. This is a marketing scheme designed around hiring "management" and sending them out around Houston to sell perfume and cologne.
Essentially, Marvin Seay and Joe rev you up to go out and make no money. You do not get paid salary or hourly pay - only commission - and you are consistently on a "need-to-know" basis.
You are told that you will get your own office. They don't tell you that you must sell $3,000 worth of product to get that office. You're told that if you go on road trips, that your hotel will be paid for. In actuality, your first 6 bottles pay for the hotel. You are told that you will only have to see product until you move 52 bottles. Actually, you spend 16 weeks training other "distributors" and the only way to make money is to sell.
I am currently planning a civil suit against Southwest Marketing for several things. Please contact me if you would like to join.

I'm glad you didn't proceed, Robert. Joe seems like the nicest guy, but they are just a bunch of crooks. For a while, I tried to start a campaign against them, but the laws are too strict around slander. I contacted the head company - World Perfume, Inc. - and that got me nowhere, either.
Don't worry, Robert, you will find a good job. If you are looking for a marketing job, contact KLM Group (www.klmgroup.com). They do credit card marketing at the airport (Bush) and it's SUPER easy. You get paid $10.00/hour, working six-hour shifts, plus bonus money if you get people to fill out apps.

Today i responded to an ad in the paper that said, looking for 12 hard working individuals to replace 12 who were not. As soon as i called they set me up for an interview, when i arrived i met all of the above mentioned one at a time and they seemed really eager to see me. When i talked to joe he was really eager and enthused to meet me and insisted i come back for a second interview. I was a little weary when he announced to the staff there that he himself was schedualing me for the second interview (when usually they go through all of the applications and only choose the top 10%) so i asked around and decided to look up this company and im so glad i did. Because of you and this website i didnt loose preciouse time and money. I was recently laid off and my wife now pregnant the bread winner and me working for them would have been devistating to us.
