Completely fed up with this bank. They were bought out a few years ago by Santander, and I have been going through them for my Auto Loan. I received an email stating that my Title would be released on the 26th, 2 weeks after I paid it off. Florida is an electronic Title state, I was specifically told by one of their representatives that I should be able to walk in on the 26th and get my title.
I go to the DMV on the 26th, and they say there is still a lien on my truck. I step outside to call Santander, and get told that I have to through Sovereign about Title release. They give me the number, and I call. The first gentleman I spoke to had no clue about anything, so I ask to speak to a supervisor. I get switched to a customer service leader, and she promises to get back to me as soon as possible after trying to tell me that I should have received a letter. I tell her Multiple times that her company sent me an email stating that the lien would be released to FLDMV on the 26th. This was all Friday.
Now it is Monday, I haven't heard from anyone, so I call again. The first rep tried to transfer me back to Santander without listening to me. After hanging up, I called back and ask to speak to a supervisor again. This one tells me that their Consumer Loans Dept doesn't have a phone number, so they have to send 'tickets' and they take 24-28 hours to process. I am livid at this point, if you send an email with a statement that something will be done at a certain time, you should be held to those standards!!
If this is not fixed soon, I may take legal action! Can they be reported to the BBB?

I will get even with Santander Consumer

AUTHOR: lorddeon - ()

POSTED: Sunday, March 17, 2013

Everything I have read about Santander Consumer is true.  When I called to make my last paymet to them and ask what my late fee was they told me that I still had 4 payments left.  I ask them why do I have an extra 4 payments left when I have a contract that says I make 60 payments and then the car is paid for.

They told me that I was unemployed in 2008 and I called them and they gave me a 2 months forberance which means now that they let me skip 2 months and now instead of 60 payments I now owe for 64.  I told them that I was not unemployed in 2008 and I can prove it.  I ask them for a document that I had signed to say it was ok or a voice recording where I agreed to this.  The guy who sounded like he was in India told me I agreed to it and I had to pay.

When I asked to speak to a supervisor he told me that I could not speak to them.  I told him it would be stupid tto try and save one thousand dollars so I can pay four thousand dollars.  So istead of making the last payment in July of 2012  made the last payment in March of 2013.

I filed a consumer complaint with every state they do business in and of course they sent me a certified letter saying that if I do not make the full payment immediately they will repo my car in one week.  I did not take them seriously because they want to rip you off as long as possible so they can make as much money off of you as possible and with a repo they would have to spend money on a repo.

So unlike many people who complain on this company I will wait for my title and then I am going to get all the information I need from my previous job and then call a lawyer and see if we can find other people in my situation and file a class action lawsuit against these predator and scam artist.  I do not care the cost I will file a lawsuit against them to recover my loss, but to let them know that not everyone  will let them get away with this.

Please stay away from this company and never do business with them.  It is better to get a used car than to deal with them.  If I hd to do it again I would have let them repo the car and save thirty thousand dollars.  Please listen to me and NEVER do business with these jokers.

Still getting the run around

AUTHOR: GIGI87 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 30, 2012

I called again today and either none of them have computers or my information is still not updated for when I paid it off! Every representative had asked me the same question, 'is the vehicle paid off'. It has been over 3 weeks since I paid it off, tomorrow it'll be 4.

If I do not get a solid answer by 5 pm tonight about when I am getting my title, I will be pursuing legal action! I have an email called  'Vehicle Payoff Confirmation and Title Advisory' that states that my title should be ready for me as of Friday!

Any Company

Any Company can be reported to the BBB, just call or fill out the online form for your nearest branch or contact address for that company

Just have the contact info for the report and suporting documentation available as usually large companies respond quickly, or not at all. If they respond you will want to give them the needed refrence material.

Good Luck
