Makes me wonder if this place is real. Because they charge an extra fee just for filing an application online and when you send an email with regards to this. The person sends you a nasty email calling you a loser, and saying they are going to report you to the IRS, etc.
Makes me think all they are interested in is the money. They say they get money from outside sources so where is the money for that? All I wanted is a dog to help me control my anxieties. The person had the nerve to tell me go to therapy.
As for email address anyone can make up an email address and use it. An email address as nothing to do with whether a person has a business or not.
I am not sure I would even trust to have any of my friends adopt from this email address/SPCA of CT.

#2 Consumer Suggestion
There are plenty of places to adopt a dog....

There are lots of good dogs/puppies to be adopted besides paying huge fees at a shelter. Check papers for starters...........many people need to find good homes for puppies that they have. I have a beagle and a collie and are gorgeous dogs and love each other very much. Neither came from a shleter, both are fixed and are in great health. So, instead of being upset grab a paper or go online and check classifieds from the web. You can find great animals there. You are acting as if this is the ONLY place to find a dog !
Do not get me wrong, shelters have animals that need homes, but they are sometimes over priced and charge much more to have an animal spayed and or nutered than if you found a free dog and took him to your local vet. So, check the papers and find a dog who needs and deserves a loving home. Good luck,
Cat :)

Application Fee of $20.00 is a screening tool
AUTHOR: Frederick Acker - (U.S.A.)

There is no charge to fill out an application at the shelter or at any live event. Our online application fee of $20.00 is to screen out those who would waste our valuable time that could be better spent caring for the animals. Prior to charging an application fee we would on a daily basis get applications from children without the knowledge of their parents, crackpots and crank applications often filled out at 3AM and applications from as far away as California. Anyone who is serious about adoption and understands and appreciates our efforts can either fill out an application live at the shelter for free or pay the $20.00 fee and get our prompt attention.
