In 8/2007, I contacted SLS for a loan mod as I was struggling to make the current payments. I was told that there was nothing that could be done. In Sept. and Oct. I contacted SLS with the same request and received the same answers.

Nov. I was contacted about a payment not being received. I stated that I had been contacting the company because the payments were a struggle for me. The end of Nov., I was contacted by David Sanchez @ SLS and I submitted a worksheet. He sent a repayment arrangement that demanded an immediate payment and a lump sum payment at the end of 12/2007.

I called David upon receipt of these documents and explained that I could not make a balloon payment. He said he knew and for me not to worry about it as the modification would be completed by the due date and the delinquent amount would be figured into the new terms. I made the payment. I contacted David numerous times throughout the month and was told it was being worked on. At one point he said he needed to send someone by for an appraisal of the property. In another conversation he said this had been done and that as he expected, the home appraised for less than what was owed so he would be able to convince the investors to help me keep the home.

On 12-31-07, after my calls were avoided by David, I spoke with another agent. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Darnell answered the line and said that my file would be sent to the Team Lead on 01-02-08 and that she would handle it until completion. He said he didn't know why David said anything about an appraisal unless I wanted to short sale. I told him I did not and thats why I kept calling, I'd like to keep my home. I asked about filing a complaint against David Sanchez and was told that when I contacted the Team Lead, Jamie Riley, I could get that complaint filed with her.

On Jan. 2nd I left a message for Jamie with no reply. I called again days later and left message with no reply. I called yet again and spoke to Bruce who said Jamie was not in and asked if I wanted to leave a message. I told him I already had and that I was not getting any callbacks. He pulled up the account number and said that it did not appear that she had done anything with it yet. Jan. 17th I left message.

Jan. 22nd, I spoke with Josh who said "Numerous reps had been removed because they were unable to reach me." I challenged his comment as everytime I called I was asked to update information. He started another worksheet and instructed me to call Jamie back on Thursday because she told him she'd get the packet turned in this evening.

Jan. 24th, my call was answered by Amy. She put me on hold for 15 minutes while she tried to track down Jamie. She came back to the line and said she was available to take my call and she would transfer me at this time. I received her voicemail. I immediately called back and Sean Liebe answered the call. Sean said the mod had been denied due to my income they had received. When asked what stubs were used (I had sent in updated check stubs) he said the old ones.

Sean emailed me a new worksheet and asked that I get it back into him as soon as possible. I immediately completed it and returned it the same evening. I called to confirm receipt of the documents and Monica answered the call. She said Sean sits next to her and that he was on the phone. She placed me on hold for a short time and relayed a message from Sean that he had received it, would post it and work everything out with Jamie. Jan. 28th, I left a message for Sean Liebe.

I called back to speak with an agent. Donna answered and placed me on hold. She came back to the line saying Sean was unavailable on another call but that it was being reviewed. Feb. 1st. I spoke with John who claimed that it was at the investors for review. I kept him on the phone for 25 minutes & he changed his story to "It looks like Jamie needs to do more work on it. I emailed her about your interest rate and she replied that she didn't know, she needed to revisit it.
