Sphere INC who is not even an registered INC scams and steals job seekers time. It is a win-win situation for them weather you go through their interview process or "work" for them. They proclaim they are a marketing company but are more like sales. They claim that they are affiliated with Fortune 500 companies as Marketing contractors but merely they are granted a table at their store.
The Interview Scam of Free Labor:
The interview process consist of 1 initial vague interview in where they excite you and proclaim your possibility of moving up to a Senior Executive Marketer. They will not discuss pay with you or any details. As they accept anyone with a resume, you will be invited to go through 3 additional interviews in where you provide free labor. These additional interviews they say are used to evaluate you and your competitiveness. You will work for them for free selling anything from , fudge, jewelry, kitchens, cable tv plans etc etc. With my experience working there, approximately 75% voluntarily quit during these evaluation interviews related to the disorganization and obvious free labor scam. At one point in time, I was dropped off with 3 other people for 4 hours of sales evaluation with no evaluation person in sight and was not picked up until 6 hours later.
The Employment Scam of Low Wages and Empty Promises:
Foolishly some people as myself decide to pursue a future with sphere inc. With motivation that my 10 years of sales experience will carry me to the top. I quickly realized after 1.5 months of "working" for sphere that this is a dead end and one too many times promises amounted to nothing. Your pay comes from how much you sell. I average $100 a week as did my peers that quickly quit. Obviously the company argues that your growth will come from your skill of selling. They told me that growth happens around 6 months, but upon evaluating no one that worked there besides the leaders of the company for more then 3 months. On a lucky week I sold $600 worth of cable tv plans, with the promise of a "huge cut". I never received this cut nor was I promoted. I continued to make $100 a week. I later realized that none of the employees had advanced through the ranks and only the people that did the interview were considered "Senior Level". After time wasted, gas money wasted running around to different malls and stores I quit. Again Sphere Inc stated that promotion and salary is based on Sales. Don't expect to sell much and if you do, do not expect to be promoted nor paid for this. If you are promoted the people you manage are most likely not selling alot and their is no example of other managers getting cuts from people under them.

#1 UPDATE Employee
Statement to the Public
AUTHOR: HR@SphereInc - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Monday, January 09, 2012
Typically it only takes one bad experience to cause difficulty for legitimate marketing firms.
Direct marketing is one of the fastest growing industries in the world right now, and many disreputable companies are taking advantage of this fact and the strategies implemented from direct marketing for their own gain. However, this also damages the perceptions and experiences of people such as this, along with contaminating the industry as a whole. We sincerely apologize to this person for their experience, but must inform them that they never worked for Sphere Inc. Here is why:
1. Pyramid Scheme a fraudulent scheme in which people are recruited to make payments to the person who recruited them while expecting to receive payments from the persons they recruit; when the number of new recruits fails to sustain the hierarchical payment structure the scheme collapses with most of the participants losing the money they put in. Pyramid schemes are illegal in the United States and before any company can be incorporated their pay structure and company
structure are intensely investigated.
2. To follow item #1, any company can be verified by calling the Department of Labor and Regulations for their state of incorporation. Which we recommend doing to anyone before they begin a position with a company.
3. The two clients we represent presently are the largest retailers in the world, one home improvement, and one sports and entertainment, and we work specifically on-site in their locations. We have not ever represented any fudge, jewelry, or cable television.
4. We do not participate in any door-to-door or any business-to-business activities, so no employee has ever been dropped off at a mall or a random location.
5. Our interview process is a 3-round interview, standard for any industry. However from beginning to end, if someone were to do all three in the same day, the total time would be approximately an hour and a half, so a 6 hour interview is unlikely. Along with this, it is only if someone is considered a qualified candidate for a position that they are brought back for the 2nd round, and subsequently the 3rd. Depending, of course, on the availability of a position. When working in a retail environment, it is federal law that there be an hourly base pay, at the very least the base cannot be below the federal minimum wage. Therefore, in a 40-hour work week it would be unrealistic for an individual to make less than that.
6. There are no dividends paid to management from the staff of the company, because there are no sales generated by the employees, therefore, no revenue brought in to be divided. (Revert to item #1) We specifically and exclusively market for our clients to their consumers.
As a final note, there are several firms in Maryland that do operate as described in the complaint posted above, and they are usually nameless or change their names often, so it is perfectly realistic that this person was mistreated and simply couldnt find the employer they intended to attack. Once again, we do apologize to this person for their experience, but based on the details of their employment described above, they never worked for us.
