To be brief this is what happened. I hired a moving company who ended up being just a broker. The brokerage company, in turn, used a company called Spirit Van Lines to actually do the shipping of our goods from Indiana to Nevada. Needless, to say the process was horrible. I'll elaborate as to what happened.

After the moving company picked up our goods, two days later I get a call asking for more money. Although, I had three professional moving companies do an in home estimate. Spirit Van Lines after the pickup later told me I owed them an extra $2,000 because of excess weight.  We argued about the price and the weight but I ultimately agreed to pay the extra fee because they told me if I didn' t then they would not move my items. They were, in essence, holding my stuff hostage. In addition, they charged me an extra fee for using my credit card to pay for the items.

Fastward about a week and a half later. My stuff finally arrives. The problem is that we were missing multiple thousands of dollars of our home goods. The most expensive were a flat screen tv, a soundbar, and a gold and diamond Cartier watch. Not only that but we also had roughly 40 cardboard boxes fully packed and shipped. The majority of these boxes arrived crushed and damaged with broken goods inside. Some of the key items that were damaged or broken of mine included: broken bed frame, broken dining room table, broken end tables, dented gas BBQ grill, dented and scratched freezer, torn leather couch. This is just a small sampling of what was taking place, I'm sure you can get the picture.   

The owner has been nothing but standoffish with me and my wife. He refuses to accept culpability in this matter in any degree. What I am hoping to accomplish with this post is to bring together others who have been wronged by this company or by his previous company David & Goliath Moving and Storage.

I am in the process of trying to serve this company legal documents. I have mailed out the demand notice needed prior to filling but every address online appears to be fake. I had the local police in Georgia contact him and he gave yet another address, I'll attempt to serve him (Moran Elad Haust/ Spirit Van Lines) again.
