I had an account with Sprint PCS and it did go into collections with RPM. I owed them 511 dollars and some odd cents. They called repeatedly and my Mom finally arranged a settlement with RPM.
She agreed to pay a total of 295 dollars and a 5 dollar credit card by phone charge which equaled 300 dollars on the phone.
All was ok they said this account was now PAID IN FULL and would be off my sprint account within 5-7 business days.
That was 7 months or so ago and I recently got a bill from another collection agency called Allied Interstate for the remaining balance of 225 dollars and some odd cents.
Sprint said they did receive a payment from RPM but never a settlement and that i still owed them 225 dollars.
Everyone from sprint and allied are telling me they can do nothing for me until i settle the matter with RPM the problem is I never received any papers from them so i do not know their telephone number or address
i am looking for any information on how to get in touch with RPM or any information on what i do from here to sue them or what my next step should be.
i am only 20 years old and i can not get anything because of this big screw over they have been putting me through please someone help thanks

RPM is ridiculous

I, too, have had my SprintPCS bill forwarded to RPM Collections. The first person I spoke to, had me on a recording to debit $55 from my account...including the $5 charge by phone fee. She then said the remaining balance of $833 would be debited at the end of March '06, and that she personally would call me back before then just to make sure the money was available. No one called and the proceded to debit the $833 from my account...twice. And twice I was charged $20 by my bank for insufficient funds. I called my bank and they told me to call RPM to tell them to stop trying to take the money, so at my Credit Unions discretion, I called RPM. First I spoke to a supervisor named Jeremy, and he was VERY rude and inconsiderate.
These people are there to try and help you, and believe me, there was no helping going on. He even went as far as to hang up on me. So I called back. I spoke to a woman, and I said to her that I realized I was recorded as saying that the money would be there, but now I'm calling to tell you it's not so mark on my account with you to stop trying to take money from my account. She said there was no way that I could do that, that I would have to contact my credit union and have stop payment put in place...which is going to cost me more money! I'm only a full-time college student, working part-time, living on my own...I do not have this kind of money.
The reason I would've had the money was from a refund on a student loan, but other more important expenses arose and I had to use the money for that. I am in the process of reporting this company to the Attorney General for New York, Elliott Spitzer, and I'm hoping that I get somewhere. How is it not possible to stop taking money from someones bank account when they call to tell you to stop? That's like stealing! When I called my bank there were more than happy to try and refund me part of the fees that I incurred for nonsufficient funds. I don't see why RPM has to give me such a hard time on stopping the payment process.
Also, they said when I first spoke to them that they would lower the amount that I owed, I hope that if and when I can pay them they don't forget to send a settlement form or letter or whatever they send to SprintPCS.

I have a toll-free number for RPM and even discovered a website for RPM. The number is: 1-866-212-7408. The website address is: http://aplusnetdesign.com/rpmweb/index.php
I have been dealing with RPM for months upon months on end. They call me at least 5 times a day and are RUDE and NASTY. Sprint made an error and applied MY payment to someone else's account. This all happened unbeknownst to me. Sprint then turned my account over to RPM (without ever contacting me). I have since been in contact with Sprint. *I* have to send my cancelled check to them so they can find their mistake. Meanwhile, Sprint refuses to contact RPM to have them stop the harassment that I am getting. All of this has resulted from an error that SPRINT made...not me!
By all means, contact RPM through their above toll-free number. Every call costs THEM money!

In response to a request for RPM's phone number, here it is..... 1-866-212-7408. I am presently dealing with them to payoff a past due Sprint PCS account...(let it go into default....got tired of all the predictable dropped calls and lack of service) Good luck to all dealing with either SPRINT or RPM!
