I believe it's time for the Final Fantasy XI Community over all servers to band together to take action against Square-Enix/PlayOnline for it's blatant refusal to acknowledge and act on the growing problem of mass /t spamming by RMT gil sellers. Despite various so called security measures, these mass spams are becoming more and more frequent. Calls to GM's produce nothing more than the standard "we will investigate and take appropriate action, please also contact the PlayOnline Special Task Force". Harassment is a violation of the POL agreement, and these mass spam /t fall into that category.

We will take yesterday as one of the worst examples of spamming to date:

Within seconds of logging on, I received 3 RMT /t from the same account, fygujvgyikbhujk. A /sea all showed the RMT based in Northern San d'Oria, but they originate in all 3 starter cities. During a couple of hours of play I received 5 more /t. I logged off and a few hours later logged back on, and was inundated for the next 90 minutes with more than 25 RMT /t. The majority were from "Name" Goldyeah.com, the remainder come from "name" Brosale or Brogame.com offering cheap gil for sale or power levelling from 1-75 $395

This activity has been going on for many weeks/months and is growing with each passing day. SE/POL can't say they don't know about it or refuse to acknowledge it's existance, nor can they justify Game Masters giving the same story over and over. How much investigation needs to be done to see that the above given example and name is obviously not legitimate. I would hazard a guess that the originator has a legitimate account and creates one or more characters to mass spam through the use of third party tools.

If this were other than the gaming community, an office, business, bank etc, it would have been taken care of immediately, but, the gaming community is at the mercy of an organization that hides behind masses of red tape and is not available to the paying/playing public.

Please, start spamming the GM's with reports, send complaints to The Special Task Force en masse and any other way you can report this issue to make them sit up and pay attention. I am going to forward this information to Good Morning America. I doubt they will look into it given that there are much graver concerns, but at least the media will have been contacted and informed of illegal practices within SE/POL.
