Square Tade Squaretrade.com an insurance which could be an scam, Internet

When you purchase an electronic device on ebay the square trade offers you an insurance for a price. I have but their insurance for about 2 years on about 10 items but never had an occasion to try to use, until recently purchased an Ipad and the insurance through square. The ipad screen crashed spontaneously, probably was a counterfeit. When I Called square trade for insurance, the agent first tried to convince me that the statute of limitation is passed and when couldnt and I cought him on that he apologized adn said this type of damage is not covered. When I asked his supervisor to get back to me he said within 254 hours and never got back to me. E bay took the side of square trade and I was not surprised.
