Stan Koch Trucking are a bunch of liars. They first entice a driver to hire with them specifying they are building their fleet. You may think you can run regional or back and forth home. They then tell you you must do OTR(3 weeks) They have their Mn, base drivers do the runs away from home and back and most of them do not want to do that. Wonder why they can't hire enough drivers in Mn.. I only was allowed 1200-1700 miles per wk, and when you want to get your Friday load delivered to get paid for it that week ,they make it impossible, because your paperwork has to be in their office by 5pm so you can get a check the following Fri.So you get paid on work done Mon>Thurs..They also are conduction a Scam where a driver signs up for their benefit package. It does not take effect for 90days, BUT they take your money up front out of your earnings weekly and then also report those deduction(IRS) as earnings on your W-2. I was also enticed to sign for a shipper load as a specific count as it sat on a dock., then upon delivery of the same load( High Value) I was told I had to do a driver unload> being held accountable for the shipper /trucking Co. count on a delivery dock at delivery, which most possibly other drivers get pay deducts for shortages. I did not fall for that trick and had the receiver sign for a dropped off trailer/seal intact ALL Fuel records show that I ran over 11,00 miles and only got paid for 7,000 miles, they must be involved in that old short the driver pay scam, short pay miles the same as Swift and ...U S Express are being sued for. One more word of Caution Should You be desperate enough to work for these Clowns. Do not think you can Quit and get away from them as I did. They did not pay my last check and deducted from my last pay a fee for their truck equipment that was in their truck when it was delivered back to them intact.Facility was unmanned. The mistake I make was that it was delivered to their specified location and I had a witness to this fact but all certified mailings, all phone calls to their office, all contacts to the State and Federal Labor Boards have been meet with the excuses or fraudulent promise to pay my $842.25. Labor boards -state, & national do nothing to help truck drivers Oh yes ,they do not pay for orientation, and also do not pay your load delay time as they specify.Good Luck R

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Sounds about right

AUTHOR: Jeff - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, August 09, 2012

I can't verify that each of these things happened, but they sound EXACTLY like the type of thing Koch would do. If I heard these, especially the one about the driver manager and taking the truck to KS, I would immediately guess Koch. The KS one I wouldn't be guessing, I would know that was Koch.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Koch ripped me off big time!

AUTHOR: Troy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, July 09, 2012

I was roped into their Lease Purchase program back in 2005. They had me paying on this beat-up Freightliner that they had bought used from JB Hunt. It kept breaking down and Koch was taking the costs of the repairs out of my wages. I paid for the engine. tires, electrical wiring, and a new front bumper. Total cost was over $5000.00. After I had worked it off, they cancled my contract. Refused to give me any explination as to why this was happening. I also was being shorted on wages and fuel surcharges.

I drove for 1 month and got a check for only $200.00. The rest went into the rig. On top of it all, Kock reported my wages to the IRS as being way more than I made. So now I have to pay back taxes on wages that I didn't receive. They took back the truck I had been paying on and I did not receive any compensation for it. Plus when I was on the road, they had me deliver to TX on a Friday. The destination was closed by the time I got there. They constantly made me sit in my rig the entire weekend till they opened on Monday morning. No pay for sitting at a receiver. Try to call Koch's dispatch on a weekend and you will get no where!

NOT A REBUTTAL

AUTHOR: Kevin P Wright - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 04, 2009

This is not a rebuttal, but agreement with Robert. I worked dor Stan Koch & Sons for 4 months. I picked up my truck in Minneapolis and they sent me to Lawerence Ks. in their K-Mart fleet. I got married and move to another state. The driver manager I had said he had to place me back over the road because he couldn't get freight to get me home. I agreed to it. He said that wasn't going to happen "putting it nicely" and that if I moved he will terminate me. I moved and he wanted me to drive the truck to Lawerence, Ks. and find my own way home. I said no that I will take the truck to Minneapolis where I was assigned the truck. He told me if I did that he would report the truck stolen and have me arrested. I told him where truck was parked and come get it, that I'm not going to Ks. I tried to call driver liason and corperate office in Mn. Driver liason never called back to help and corperate office said to talk to driver manager. My problem was with driver manager. Here it is 6 months later and still sitting out of work.
