If you receive a letter with a check stating you 'won' sweepstake money, and you are 'required' to call a number and cash a check for 'taxes' in the amount of$4875.00 and send that money to a 'tax agent' and then told you will receive the balance of your winnings by Fed-ex - Beware - it is a rip-off and if you cash the check, you will be the one out $4875.00!!!
Call your local FBI office and post your information with the Better Business Bureau, the National Consumer Alert companies and anywhere else you can and DO NOT cash the check. This is an on-going scam by persons who steal company checks and purchase names and addresses on-line and then target those individuals.
Call the Bank the Check is Drawn on, and you will find out that the Company, Star Capital Financial, Inc. does not exist.
