Stardust Jewelers item returned but won't issue refund, RIPOFF! Framingham Massachusetts

I purchased a set of earrings intended as a gift for my mother. I bought a off the shelf pair, which was not customized in any way. I made clear that I was undecided, and I may have to return them, and they said that was not a problem. I returned them the very same day (within a couple of hours) because I changed my mind and decided to get something else in a somewhat smaller budget. Return was brand new, unused, just as I took it from the store. I returned with receipt.

I realized later that the store had issued me a store credit instead of crediting my card back - when I called them they said they don't issue refunds or credits - only store credits. While selling they did not tell me this policy, apparently it is on the receipt (which you only get after you have paid them), and according to them on a sign posted in the store (which I never saw.)

I guess as a store they have a right to have whatever return policy they want, but if you ever want to shop this place, watch out or you will get stuck. Honestly, I would recommend some place else. I talked to these people nicely - they don't much care about their service - they won't cut me any slack.

I finally bought what I wanted at another jeweler's - big store - good selection and service. No nonsense 14 day return policy. I will recommend this place.
