Starting Gate Could not did not repair my truck's starter. Laurel Maryland

I called Starting Gate to repair my truck which had burnt out the negative wire on the battery. I waited for a diagnose. I was told the starter had frozen and the coil had locked and it would cost me a total of 824. and some changed. I said okay. The charges included the towing electrical diagnose, parts and labor...I waited for a call when it was done. Once I got the call from Paul, I arranged to pick up the truck.

On Saturday, I walked 4 miles to pick up the truck. About 3 miles back the starter began to make noise. I pulled in to a parking lot. I turned off the truck and it would not start again. I called the towing department of the same company and waited 3 hours before they sent a tow truck capable of towing the truck. Monday came and I was told by Paul that they were looking into it.

I did not get a call back. I called on Tuesday afternoon to get a status and I was told by Paul that the problem was electrical. Did I forget to mention I had paid them 95 dollars to diagnose the electrical problem.. I was told by Paul that the diagnose was for the wires.. what ever that meant. Now, he said, they needed to do another check and that it would cost approx. 180.00 needless to say, I suspected they would pull something like this.

I think they knew what happened and in an attempt to cover up their own asses they blamed it on something else. I suspect they used the same starter and just changed coils.. At any rate, I was told by the mechanic that the truck could not be started cause something had lost power. I told them to proof that the starter worked. All the mechanic did was short out the ignition so that it cranks. And said see, it cranks.. Paul came out and asked what I wanted to do. I said I would just hot wire it. And in two minutes I had the truck stated and drove off the lot.

As soon as I drove about 2 or 3 miles the starter really began to rattle. I thought it might blow up. One of the repairs they did was to the threads on the block that holds the starter. I can almost bet it fell off or just did not take.. I paid over 150.00 for them to "FIX" it.. Well I made it to my street and parked the truck and there it sits. I will have a full diagnose done by myself soon.
