USA Card Services ripped me off also.
Their representative Lonnie Smith called me, and I should have known something when he told me what my credit score was and I had not given him my social. He was a very smooth talker, because I was telling him that I could not afford the fee and he stated that they were giving me the computer, but know one is giving you anything, he started quoting from the Bible, talking about T.D.Jakes being his bishop, like I said he was a smooth talker. It was my fault that I signed those documents,I should have recognized the scam.
This started in April 2006, and I have left messages for Lonnie Smith to call me, but I am unable to get in touch with him. I put a stop payment on the draft for the computer, just to draw some attention, the person that I talked to at A-1 Leasing was very rude and unprofessionally. He told me that USA Card services pay them $5000 for those worthless computers.
Can someone out there help me? I can't afford the $130.00 payments and Lonnie Smith want return my calls. They need to be stopped.

#3 Consumer Suggestion
Close all access to company

Hi, I too was ripped-off by Startup Essentials. I cancelled my bank accounts and any other financial information that I gave them. I was one of the lucky ones and got out after 1-2 payments to them. Go to your bank tell them that there is fraud on your account they may be able to give your some of your money back and do some investigaion into it for you. It may hit your credit but, that you would have to count as the cost for not paying for something that is nothing.
They did send me a leter saying I defaulted on my loan but, I have not heard anything further. I have tried contacting them but, no results. Hopefully this will help you and good luck. Stand your ground and don't give in. I can't guarantee this will make them go away but at least it will stop them from taking your money every month.

#2 Consumer Suggestion
STOP PAYMENT NOW!

If you cannot afford the $130/monthly fee for the computer, you need to contact your bank and stop any and all autodrafts to the company, whether they are electronic or via credit/debit card. Tell the bank you want to stop them. You do not even owe them any explanation. As far as ruining your credit, you are entitled by law to dispute any negative credit information. Monitor your credit reports, and if you see any entries from them be sure and contact the credit reporting bureau, not A-1 leasing or anyone else.
Tell them you want a written dispute on file, and then enter your comments. Make sure you state that it was fraud. However, you say here it was a scam but you do not list the scam. Make sure that it is fraud and not you're changing your mind. After all, they have you hard signature on documents.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Lonnie is no longer with USA Card Services

Lonnie has left the company -- your only chance to deal with the co. in through John Brutsche (sp?) in Customer Service and to stop payment.
If most people will stop their payments -- it will get the co in trouble with the lease co -- but it will damage your credit rating. They have been dropped by several lease companies. If the default ratio increases -- Ladco (or whomever their current lease co. is) will drop them too. They are on their 3rd leasing co now.
