I received a voice message on my cellphone on November 8, 2011 from a man named Eddie Smith who is with The State Investigation Department in Buffalo, NY.  He stated it was in regards to a legal that I must respond to or I will be in serious trouble.  The message was left on my voice mail but I did not return the call since I had the same issue with another company a few months ago that was located in California.  They were claiming the same legal matter, that I owe money for a payday loan from Cash Advance. I never took a loan with this company.

The man called my work phone today, November 9th, 2011 and stated that he has been trying to reach me in regards to a legal matter.  I told him to never call my work phone ever again. He asked when can he call me back I said anytime after 6pm.   I was so upset that I received this call at my job amongst my co-workers.  I called the man back and asked for his name, company name, city & state, phone number and what the legal matter pertained to and it all sound like deja-vu.  I told him, if he ever called my cellphone or my work phone ever again, I will report his company to the BBB and to my local police department as a harassment or threatening calls. 

I have since blocked the number from my phone. I urge anyone that may come across my report to beware of these kind of scams and scare tactics to get people to pay money for loans that they never took out or purchases that they never made.

I hope that by submitting this claim that someone who may have been a victim or knows someone who was a victim will know how to handle it.  Don't let these people screw with you.  I hope they all burn in h*ll for preying on innocent people trying to live a decent life.
