STATE TAXING AUTHORITY STATE TAX AUTHORITY SENT A LETTER STATING THEY HAVE PLACED A LIEN IN THE AMOUNT OF $11,077.00 LOS ANGELES California

I recently received a letter from State Taxing Authority.

It said:

"Notice of wage garnishment and lien investigation request for immediate action--time sensitive"

Then, the letter informed me that there is a "probability" that the State Taxing Authority will move forward with garnishing my wages and place levies on my bank account and other property as a result of unpaid tax lien.

Next, the letter stated that their investigation has been filed with the County of Los Angeles in 2013 and is official record.

They included a a toll-free number: 1-800-467-3072.

When I called, the representative asked me for the file number listed on the letter and started asking me for personal information.  When I asked them to verify the birthdate on the account, the rep transferred me to some man name "Cal Tyler". Once again, these people tried to dominate the conversation. I asked him for his phone number: (213) 493-6478.  When I asked him for an addrress, we got "disconnected".

By the way, the letter is PINK.  Also, there is no return address on the envelope or in the letter.

Oh, there is a footnote at the bottom of the letter:

"Information obtained from public record sources.  Rates and terms are subject to change without notice.  This product is not affiliated with any government agency and this offer is not being made or endorsed by any agency of the government.  Not available in all states."
