My daughter had $149.00, taken from her acct from Capitol Vacations. I called all the numbers given to me by the bank, when I realized what had happened to her. That money is gone and I'm sure will never be refunded. They took the money from her acct even though after a telemarketer called and she said NO.

The next day a letter came from Stay In Touch Long Distance. They said they would take $49.95 from her acct if she did not cancel in 30 days. I called to cancel immediately and the voice and mechanism of cancelling was the same as Capitol Vacations. Her account statement also showed WLI*travel Value Plus took $6.00 last month and $7.00 this month. i called them and they said she went on the Internet and joined. My daughter never did that. She's 19 and in college full time struggling to make ends meet. When would she ever have time or money to travel so extensivly ,that she needs a membership. This has all happened in the past week. Thank you for your site. while researching capitol, I found stay in touch, and wli travel and another Co. Household Finance that I do business with, that has 26 complaints against it. I will be ending my association with that company never to continue with them again, in case I'm their next victim. She is getting scammed by all sides. We immediately closed her account with the bank, so no more money can be withdrawn by these unscrupulous thiefs.

this is a rip off

I've Been getting sales calls and hanging up on all of them. This morning I woke up to check my account and there were $20.00 charged to my bank acct from this wli travel value. I can't afford that. I have four kids and it's christmas. This is my only day off and was going to go put some things on layaway. Well needless to say this won't be happening. They took it out of my acct with not warning. This is defently bad business. I assure you my bank is doing a fraud investigation.

They closed her account and assured her that she would get her money back

AUTHOR: Marion - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 03, 2004

Since I sent my last message, My daughter went to the bank to close her account. The bank was extremely upset. The bank representative brought her into a room in the back and went over all over information. They closed her account and assured her that she would get her money back. I was very skeptical since i had already exhausted every effort. However, I don't know what the bank did, or what threats they used, but, my daughter received the $149.99, 2 months later, that was originally taken from her account. But the kicker is: This operation STILL calls her cell phone at least 3 times a month to offer her the same plan or a better plan. She screams at them, threatens them, hangs up on them and they still call back. The nerve. But, she has her money and has learned a valuable lesson.
