Stebbins Engineering & Manufacturing Company is a bad company. They are a design-build contractor that designs and builds brick linings and concrete storage tanks for the chemical, mining, and paper industries like International Paper, Exxon, and Shell. I was employed there for three years and was constantly harassed by my boss David Honan, the VP of Engineering.

He harassed me constantly and sent out a mass email, telling his employees to vote Republican in the 2000 US Presidential election or else I'd lose my jobs. Honan even told me not to comment on political issues of the day on the Hotline radio program because according to Honan, "It makes Stebbins look bad."

Honan placed a reprimand in my file, telling me not to talk to the media because it would make him look bad. Also, he accused me of stealing my own textbooks. He apparently doesn't like it when I used the knowledge he forced me to learn.

He even told me to interfere with a police investigation conducted by (now Sherriff) John Burns becuse it would make Jefferson County District Attorney Cindy Intshernt look bad. The child I was asked to endanger - his grandfater lives across the street from Honan on Keyes Avenue in Watertown, NY.

On my last day there, Honan threatened me with retaliation and told me "not to work for a competitor". It is well known by everyone in the company he worked for competitor Ballard for one day, but left because his boss was Sunit Jain, an Asian and a former employee of David's.

Honan sent tout bad references to any of my future employers and told them I was a bad engineer when I had direct evidence that their tile tanks were badly designed. I have a copy as proof as well as the tanks they badly designed. It involves a tank at Weyco in Columbus, Mississippi, back in the early 1990s.

Also, no matter what I did, my work was never good enough for Honan. Honan would always nickpick my work, while letting the senior engineer egt away with more bad design judgments. Honan was always mad because I didn't guess the exact reinforcing steel and exact spacing to be placed in the concrete tanks they designed.

David did other bad things like harass my employers in California, telling them not to sign off on my professional engineering experience because I was unethical in contacting the media about his unethical behavior. Also, he told them it would make them look bad if I became a licensed engineer.

Also, in his position as member of the Watertown City Planning Board, he allowed a large uncovered pile of cancer causing road salt to be dumped in a residential neighborhood. In the two years it's been there, some children have become sick with cancer causing agents floating around in their blood. Those children may never seen their 21st birthday thanks to Honan.

And because he's an unethical licensed professional engineer, I will adddress him as Osama bin Honan because of his unethical actions. I would say this is advertising of bad engineering for Stebbins, don't you think?

Honan claims to be ethical just because he's Jesuit, but commits all these immoral actions. He's also a 1979 Clarkson University graduate who never got his master's degree ebcause he decided to obey God's commandment of being fruitful and reproducing by having child no. 3.

Also, confidentiality agreements are invalid in the state of California, which means I can say whatever I want about their bad technology. Also, the Cali PE Board passed a lawm stating that confidential information is void if the product or person behind the company harms the public like Honan did on Morrison Street.

As for their salesmen, they are taught to bully people into buying their product. If a client such as a paper mill asks for dowel loads so he can evaluate whether the existing foundation is good or not, Stebbins tells the customer that they have to buy the tank or else. Foundation construction usually costs lots of money, especially when the paper mills and other industries are hurting.

Also, many of my cowrokers who worked there at elast 10 years or more were dismisseed for no reason. Such people include the QC program manager.

As for Stebbins's competition, you can use this as a weak spot in promoting your company's agenda. For example, the tanks they constructed at the Willamette mill in Kingsport, Tn, had to be reconstructed because they had bad concrete. In one place, they actually found a large boot inside the concret wall.

At the BOwater mill in Calhoun, Tn, the mill has to shut down every year so they repoint the joints in their latency chests.

Honan may even use the lawyers to remove this complaint from the website. In fact, he's shut down every website that mentions his name becuase he feels threatened.

To sum it up, David is a workplace bully who feels threated by anyone who displays even a small amount of intelligence to him.

What am I saying? Avoid Stebbins at all costs. You may think you're getting a good product, but you actually aren't. ISO 9002 means consistency either good or bad.
