 These people are operating an illegal business out of their house. It's a full on cabinetry shop with heavy machinery in a residential neighborhood. They ran an ad in Craigslist, stating they were quiet, honest, empty nesters. They didn't tell me they ran an illegal business out of the house with loud employees showing up daily at 6/7am. They didn't tell me about the large trucks making deliveries of cabinetry materials. They didn't tell me about the loud machinery that is used daily in their garage. They took money from me for rent, to the tune of about $1000 and I couldn't even sleep there. Many awful these awful people did to me Below is the letter I wrote to these shady people. They of course ignored it. I

wouldn't recommend hiring STEELE & COMPANY WOODWORKS. This is the truth about these fake, dishonest people. ____________________________ I rented a "suite" from you. This was a small room/office, with a twin sized day bed and other furniture included. The suite, also included a private area behind a curtain along with the room which was adjacent to the private 1/2 restroom, I paid you for. After I paid you and paid to move in, I quickly realized that you were not honoring your ad nor our verbal agreement to provide me with the private suite area and private 1/2 restroom. You, your family/friends/clients/employees also used my "private suite" and restroom at their leisure. I specifically

declined renting many other opportunities where the restroom was shared. Plus, the second day after I moved in, I told your Robert the sink was clogged. He told me I "just didn't know how to operate the stopper apparatus". I'm not an idiot. He refused to even get up from his chair. I had to plunge the sink and remove the nasty hair and mildew from the clogged drain. This is why I paid rent, so I didn't have to deal with this kind of thing. Especially egregious, is that I had to deal with guck from you or your previous tenant. Disgusting. Also, the other rentals are much less rent generally. I do not appreciate having to be inconvenienced, my privacy invaded, sharing my sink/toilet/linens with strangers, providing

paper and soap and cleaning up after you and your guests. This was not what you offered nor what we agreed. I have a copy of your Craigslist ad stating private bath and the furniture list. I rented exclusive rights to the room hallway area and restroom. It's no different than some stranger using the bed. It was also very difficult to shower in your disgusting bathroom. Your shower is peppered with nasty black hairs, that are just left there. Nearly every time I went in there, there was visible escrement on your toilet. Once, the toilet was clogged and filled with it. Unbelievably disgusting to have to shower in these conditions. Astoundingly, you think it's alright to maintain a nasty bathroom like this, that

someone is paying you to use. Also, when you entered the room I was renting, you broke my $50 heater. The furniture I rented, was obviously supposed to be for an adult. The bed you provided, as you admitted in a text (which I have a saved screen shot), was for a "youngster". You never replaced the bed with a proper frame and headboard and for most of my tenancy, I had to do without, despite my paying for it. This too is a violation of our agreement. Additionally, you have a serious ant infestation. I should have been able to leave fruit on the counter over night without thousands of ants accumulating. One example, I did not see them in my blueberries the next morning, after just a few hours and I literally

ate live ants because of you. They were in my hands, on my face and I felt them for days after. This was a traumatic experience and not at all funny. You also described yourselves as "empty nesters". You told me you rarely work from home. Your adult kids were there every day for hours and hours, loudly talking and making tons of noise and using my paid bathroom. They may as well have lived there. Working from Starbucks and teaching away from home, is what you said you did. In reality, you start at 6/7am every morning with loud conversations and blaring business phones. Including your raucous employees. In fact, you rarely leave and are seldom quiet. The two of you sit plopped down, all day in two

separate rooms and yell to each other about business or bicker about personal issues. All. Day. You don't even leave for lunch. The only time it is quiet, is when you're sleeping. Even then, when Bob falls asleep on the couch, I got to hear his resonant snoring and flatulence all night. Again, not at all funny. I could find no peace or relaxation, in my off time from work. Ever. I literally had to turn down work daily, because I could not handle a normal work load due to my inability to properly sleep in that house because of your illegal home based business. Even on the weekends, I had to listen to the loud machine shop noises from the garage. The assembly, trimming or whatever you do with these cabinets is a noisy

process. Obviously, I would not have rented a room within a cabinetry shop, had I known the truth. Incidentally, I confirmed the illegality of all of this with Menifee City Assistant Planner Russell J Brown. Amazingly, you see nothing wrong with any of this. You have an illegal work shop and equipment in your garage. It is not legal to operate a cabinet shop in a residential R-1 zoned neighborhood. You are likely not claiming income from the two rooms you continually rent out either, which is why you demanded cash. This is at least $15k annually you are evading taxes on. There's no way, with the type of people you are and demanding cash with evasive receipts, that your being forthright with the federal

government. You're not even honest with your local government. You told me your dog doesn't bark. Another lie. Plus you had another puppy in the house and brought in a trainer for both. The barking was relentless. This is far from what you claimed. Many shady things you are involved with. You should not mislead and essentially rip off your tenants. Had you been forthright, I never would have rented from you. You probably knew this, which is why you lied. Since you lied to me, caused me intense duress, cost me money and breached our contract, you can give me back the money I gave you and some that you cost me. I gave you $843 for a month and a half rent. $100 moving one way is $943. Plus $50

for my heater you broke. $993 total, is what I need now to settle this the easy and far less costly way. If you give me my money back in a weeks time, I will not sue you for further damages. If you do not, I will report your illegal business and the income from your tenants to the proper authorities, including the City of Menifee Planning Division and the IRS. Additionally, I will sue you for breach of contract, damages of lost earnings and possibly for personal trauma of your ant infestation caused me. The lost earnings; because I couldn't sleep properly due to the relentless noise caused by you secretly operating an illegal business out of that house and lying about it. You cannot rent out rooms, charge people

money and do whatever you feel like. You have to abide by lodgers laws, city guidelines, all legal agreements including verbal and pay taxes on the income. You just cannot operate whatever kind of business you want out of a residential zone. I have pictures of the countless trucks you used for delivery and pickup of materials for this business. I have pictures of your illegal machine shop. I have pictures of the piled to the ceiling, in your garage of boxes of business materials for the cabinets you sell. What a mess residential areas would be if everyone did what you shady people do. I also have pictures of the overload of parked cars, vans and trucks in your driveway, in front of and around your house

daily. I also don't appreciate being told to move my car from in front of the neighbors house, after I had to park there because there was no available space in front of the house, where I was paying rent. You can't take my money and inconvenience me like this. You also cannot have daily meetings, etc of employees in a house like this. You are violating numerous laws. If you give me back my money in a week, I will not report them. This will give you the time you need to correct your violations and do the right thing. And I will not sue for further damages. Govern your conduct accordingly. Stop ripping people off and lying to them. Be decent people, a good neighbor and pay proper taxes! **I just read a bad

review of your company (the few good ones are faked and people who work for you, that you know otherwise). Your son and your other employees did horrible work for this guy and your daughter upsold and overcharged him without results. The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree apparently. This poor guy you ripped off says you told him you contract out your labor. Your son does it! I feel bad for this poor guy you ripped off and left with an expensive mess. You should have given him his money back, but of course you didn't. You people are a disgrace. Give me back my $993 by August 4, 2016 or the consequences of a lawsuit, etc (which you more than deserve), will cost you far more. I'll will file my claim the following week, should you default.
