Stemmle Plumbing sent two plumbers to my house to install new faucets. The two spent most of the time reading the instructions for installation, and appeared to never have done this before.
After calling into the office, the two "plumbers" gave me an estimate of $1250!
I said thanks but no thanks and paid $79 for the estimate.
I called another company. They sent an experienced plumber who appeared to have installed faucets before, and didn't have to read instructions. I was charged $750.
In my opinion, a variance of this much suggests to me that the estimate given by Stemmle was inflated. The job also did not require two people. I think they tried to rip me off, maybe because I'm a woman and they thought I'd fall for it.
