Stepping Stones Montessori School of East Lansing- Colleen Carlson Incompetent, Condesending, Ill Equipped, Scammer! East Lansing Michigan

Where to start?! Colleen Carlson is the worst employer ever! Let me give you a run down of what this uneducated, unethical, unskilled, train wreck of a woman has done:

1. She has PUSHED OUT more than 7 employees in her short term making comments such as "I will not fire anyone so I dont have to pay them unemployement" "If they want to quit I will make sure they do not get unemployment"

2. She has more than tripled the enrollment costs for families, significantly increased the tuition costs and for what!? She has a NON MONTESSORI CERTIFIED teacher in the Elementary program! This is a private school... families bring their children here to get a MONTESSORI education! You are going to charge them as such and have a GENERAL EDUCATION provider teach them!? Thats WRONG! Also against the rules for State Licensing-which she lied to them about!

3. She has asked office staff to commit fradulent reports and documents to file with the state! Some families get federal funding for education- She would LIE about the hours atteneded as well as the GRADE the child was in in order to get MORE MONEY from the state!!

4. She would go in and mess with employees state and federal withholdings! This is a huge one! One employee got 2 different W2's there was a $2500 difference in yearly earnings!!!! Thats not a small amount!

5. She switched payroll programs going from ADP to a private software program then back to ADP- If you have gone through ADP you know they keep all records, addresses, names, bank info etc on file... There was NO reason to go in and change anything once the switched back to ADP- And yet ONE employee (who Colleen was in the process of trying to get to quit) magically didnt get their paycheck on pay day? Why you ask? Come to find out Colleen had gone in and changed ONE number in said persons bank account info and sent the check to the wrong account! One not belongong to the employee!! So out of 25 plus employees everyone else gets their check except the one person Colleen had some personal vendetta against?! NOT A COINCIDENCE! DELIBERATE!

6. She is paid a GENEROUS amount to be in the position she is- Wouldnt you like the Head of School to be present daily to be able to handle the day to day decisions that need to be made concerneing your childs education? Or how about being an employee- Wouldnt you want your boss there to be able to make financial/business decisions? NOT COLLEEN. She has another job that she "Forgot" to mention that takes her out of the state as well as counrty for weeks at a time! In a 2 month period she was in the building a TOTAL of MAYBE 3 weeks!!

7. She is in charge of the financial aspects of the school- And yet has to ask what the difference of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable!? Sounds like someone you want in charge of your financial institution?!

These are just a few examples of what she has done... She has treated people she was threatened with as if they are trash! She thinks she knows all, yet has no clue! This lady needs to be terminated from her position. She has single handedly ruined what used to be a beautiful peaceful place to get your children a good montessori education! She is a scam artist! Has to be split personality or bi-polar! Colleen Carlson is a sorry excuse for "Leader".

One employee who quit back in November 2013 is still yet to receive their final paycheck being forced to file a complaint with the Michigan Wage and Labor Department! 7 MONTHS AGO! She then created fradulent "witness statements" sayingn the employee isnt owed any wages- Sorry for her when the State of Michigan see's she is lying when they provide proof she lied to them!

Another employee who just left Stepping Stones is being denied Unemployent due to Colleen LYING to them about why said employee should not receive benefits!

 I am a firm beliver in KARMA- This report is being used to get the info out there at what a disgusting person Colleen Carlson is! UNEDUCATED-UNSKILLED-UNETHICAL-LYING-DECEITFUL- these are all words that could be used to describe her! For all the evil, horrible thins she has done, KARMA will take care of her!

Take this as a warning to NOT take your child to STEPPING STONES MONTESSORI SCHOOL OF EAST LANSING MICHIGAN! DO NOT APPLY FOR A POSITION AT STEPPING STONES MONTESSORI EITHER! As long as this sorry excuse of a human is still present, she will bring nothing good to your life!
