It's January 14, 2010 and I'm still waiting on a $215 western hat from Sterling Leather for my husband's Christmas present.  I have received one email from all my calls & emailed questions/concerns saying how sorry they were and they would find my order and fix everything. 


Are you surprised when I say that No one did/wrote/called anything?  So I'm back on the phone, sending emails, filling out rip off reports with not one phone call returned (we have voice mail & caller ID - no one from Sterling Leather has ever called.)  This takes a lot of time, so I really hope everyone shopping for Western Wear sees this and it takes a lot of Sterling Leather's time and money too!!


I imagine that after I ordered a hat, they went on the internet and tried to find that hat.  Then they bought it themselves and are now waiting for it to be delivered to them, so they can send it to me.  Otherwise, why wouldn't they just mail me the hat?  They certainly were on the ball to collect my $215!!  They turned that charge into my Visa in less than 24 hours!


Terrible customer service - I do not think they are a real company.  I think someone's kid made a good website page & I'm paying $215 for it.  Of course I will do a charge back since it was on Visa but I wanted that hat.


When you're shopping online, it takes a lot more time than people might realize.  I looked at 4 or 5 western clothing sites before I settled on this hat.  I spent 1/2 the day shopping for and buying a hat and a month later I'm still calling & emailing them, wishing I had picked ANY other company!


Ugh.  Obviously I recommend that no one takes the risk of attempting to purchase through Sterling Leather!  There's only one man's voice I've heard (really nasal & bored sounding.)   I really would be surprised to learn that this was a real company. 


And my husband is still wondering what he got for Christmas.....  Maybe by Valentine's Day??  Why don't people like this stick to what they can handle - maybe a booth at their local flea market...

Sterling Leather is a real company & the hat they sent is beautiful.

Hello!

    I was exaggerating about Sterling Leather being a kitchen table business.  It is a real business.  They finally did send the hat + they also refunded my money!

   It is too bad that I had to write reports (all this takes so much time!) before anyone from said company took an interest in what was happening with my transaction (or lack of - at that point.) 

   The hat is beautiful.  I ordered it a few days after Christmas and assumed it would be here in about a week to 10 days.  The only confirmation email said they'd send it shortly.  I didn't understand why it was taking so long & the fact that no one was answering my emails - it makes you nervous - why isn't anyone responding - is this a real company...etc

The Best Customer Service

The customer who filed this report has only partially stated the facts and has made false claims against Sterling Leather.  Sterling Leather prides itself in friendly, hands on customer service, and our reputation as such remains as one of the best in the industry.


The claims of this customer have some validity, however, the profanity and harshness to the Sterling Leather staff has been most abusive to say the least.  The facts are that this customer purchased a hat on line on December 28th, 2009.  The customer was immediately notified that this particular style was in the process of being ordered and would be shipped early January 2010.  The customer did in fact notify Sterling Leather on January 12th, 2010 that the hat had not been received yet. The customer service representative from Sterling Leather apologized for this inconvenience and explained that it would be another week.  At that time, the customer was given an option to receive a FULL refund or wait another week.  The holidays had obviously slowed down the delivery time.

The customer began to get abusive with the customer service representative and began using profanities and making abusive accusations.  The representative politely offered a refund however, the customer continued to be abusive and demand the hat. The customer repeatedly called every ten minutes and made threats against the company and the person on the phone.  

I am the owner of the company and had been contacted about the abusive behavior of the customer and will personally contact this customer again to tell them that we will NOT do business with them and will immediately refund the money for this hat.

We have been in business for 30 plus years and have had our share of disgruntled customers.  This is only normal, however, no one should be disrespectful nor use profanities or threats in order to achieve their goals.  

I would apologize, but this seems to only rile up this customer.  I am also the person on the phone with the nasally and bored voice message.  I will not take that personally!!!!

I make no guarantees this contact info is correct. This is what whois.net provided. Go ahead and do the charge back, but still contact this man. I'm sure you will get somewhere.
