I am confirming that we are in the same horrendous mess as Jonathan of Alvin has posted! Apparently this individual (Lanni) has quite a sordid reputation in the spa industry also, (plenty of complaints under 186004). I was shocked to find how many reports are listed against this man (I assume they are one and the same, as I have seen Steve Todd Lanni and Kenneth Von Lanni listed under Houston Pools and Spas, or God help us all, are they RELATED?).

We too, had signed a contract in November of 2007 and are now the proud owners of a torn up, construction trash strewn, dangerous (heaps of rusting rebar) back yard with the centerpiece being a scummy, stinking hole in the ground. I have had to call every day for weeks to get any response from Lanni who is very ready with a checklist of stupid excuses - the only one he hasn't told me is the one where he took the big installment check (against my better judgement) and disappeared for months!! (Obviously he is hustling to cover his posterior by shmoozing other more irate customers with our money of which we are having to pay back to the bank!).

I have contacted our lawyer but the best we can hope for is winning judgement in an artbitration hearing. He "promised", "gave his word" that we would be swimming in a completed pool by July 4th (Ha! I stupidly assumed that would be 2008!!). We have heard so many of these "promises" from him that I absolutely do not believe him especially as he laughed when I told him I wanted that last promise in writing!!! What a joke! I am a Scorpio and a woman....stupid Steve, you don't know what you have gotten into...I WILL have justice done and I know how I can get it!

Is there any way we can all collectively get this guy??? I found (I believe) his home address, and I have various phone numbers but at any minute I am sure he will file chapter 11 or whatever other sources there are to bail on his obligations and these will be of no use. I am wondering if permit records are available to the public where one can see where he is most active at this time and catch him or his contractors in person.

There has to be SOME way to stop this freight train of horror from bilking hard working people out of their money... he has gone on for far too long!!!
